Best times for flight AFTER cruise

Is a 11:30 a.m. flight too early out of FLL (after the cruise)? We usually book after 1 p.m. but find we are always at the airport around 9:30 and sit around forever. (May be best to take our luggage off ourselves?)

The ship, terminal, and scheduled arrival time can make a difference, but 11:30am should be fine for virtually all arrivals at Port Everglades. Just make sure you can get off this ship no later than 9am or so.

Best port /airport combo. Nothing compares to the close proximity of both. You will be more than fine. We regularly book 11am flights out of FLL and are always at airport 2 hours before flight and never rush off ship

You should be fine. We book the 9:55 flight out of FLL and self disembark with our carryons by 7:15. We are at the airport before 8:00 and at our gate by 8:30 (We do have TSA).

You will be fine. We also take the 9:30 flight out and never had a problem.

This past weekend, we waited an hour to just check our luggage in with the airline. Not sure if it was a fluke, but give yourself plenty of time to go from curb to gate.

From Port Everglades to FLL, you should be just fine. Times are really dependent on your port/airport combination. The airport is only 10 mins. away.

As others have said, the only thing that could trip you up are major unexpected delays that you really can’t plan for anyway. Make an effort to get off the ship at a decent time to account for customs and airport lines and you should be fine.
