rnr4thatsme Posted March 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 8, 2018 We are a family with older teens - would it be reasonable to try to visit Disneyland on debarkation day (Sat in Feb)? I understand traffic in LA can be bad, and if we go, I’d like to get there by around noon to get my money’s worth.
CruiserBruce Posted March 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2018 Yes...you should be able to make a noon target. Sooner is possible. The biggest variable I see is how difficult it will be to get a car.
jamesr3939 Posted March 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 8, 2018 Are you flying home that night? Check the park schedule for hours they will probably close around 8:00 PM. Getting there by noon shouldn't be an issue, just have a couple of routes planned out just in case.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 8, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 8, 2018 It would be OK assuming you are flying home the next day. Keith

BigGuru Posted March 8, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2018 You should be ok then. I have flown into Long Beach Airport and LAX on Saturday mornings around 9/10 and always gotten to the parks before noon. If you get lucky with the opening hours on Saturday (10 or 12) you should have a fun day.
ericopia Posted March 10, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2018 Check the park schedule for hours they will probably close around 8:00 PM. The DISboards site (http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneyland/park-hours.cfm?month=2&year=2018) keeps an unofficial, historical view of park hours. Looks like the last couple of years, on Saturdays in February Disneyland itself actually was open 8a-midnight. DCA generally closes a bit earlier. Disney generally won't post Disneyland hours and entertainment schedules until about 30-45 days in advance.
mkkao924 Posted March 21, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 21, 2018 Well, I think the biggest variable is to “get your money’s worth”. You can be there by noon, no problem. However spending $400+ for the family to spend 5-6 hours, especially 30%+ of your time will be waiting in line for, uh, everything, can be hard to swallow. I don’t go there unless I can be there first thing in the morning, and I live 15 minutes away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare ceilidh1 Posted March 22, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 22, 2018 We just did this - granted we were in no "rush" as we were staying in Anaheim for 3 days BUT we disembarked the ship as soon as we could and were in our pre-booked private car by 8:30am. We got dropped at our hotel, checked in, left our luggage and made our way to the park. We got there by 11am without even rushing. This is where things went downhill....(bear in mind this was in January and still considered "Holiday Time"). It took us TWO hours to get through security and pick up our pre-purchased tickets (another lesson learned the hard way - buying discount tickets from a certain well known online travel agency may get you a great price but it doesn't get you an actual ticket - just a voucher that you then have to wait in line to redeem!) By the time we actually got into the park it was after 1pm and we were tired, hot, and stressed! If I only had a day to spend there, I would have been very disappointed! You likely wouldn't get these kind of crowds in February, but just be prepared - the Disboards that someone mentioned here are a great source of info!
