Kinda wish they would use the solstice class ships. I will look at the ports, we cruise by we get 50%Off on 8 nights with a vitality discount. Plus we are both young and getting vacation for 3weeks at a time can be hard with work. We like cruising by we can see stuff and then when we are retired go back for longer.... Thanks for the information, will def look at itineraries. I want to see HK, Thailand, and Vietnam the most. Singapore is also intriguing.

Curious - what is a "vitality discount "?

You just never know KiwiFrom Kiev. The Connie crew we had was not bad, just not as open and friendly as the crews we had on the Millennium. I prefer the S class ships myself but when their is a great itinerary on an M Class I am happy to go with it. Every Celebrity cruise we have done has been amazing.

We just did the Millennium from Hong Kong (Vietnam & Taiwan). The crew was fantastic and we really love Captain Alex. In our opinion, the food in Ocean View Cafe was lacking in variety, quality & presentation but we really enjoyed meals in Blu. We had a couple maintenance issues with our cabin, one of which (constant water on the bathroom floor) couldn't be fixed during our sailing. We also were not impressed with the music & entertainment aboard the Millie. We loved the itinerary, but as noted by other posters, the ports were often a long distance from places that we wanted to see. Despite the issues that we had with the Millennium, we'd do it again just for the itinerary. Especially loved Vietnam.

As already stated by many the ports are a long way away, you really don't have much time to see around - with the exception of Halong Bay. HK and Singapore are both OK as it is only a short taxi ride from the port. I loved the cruise but personally felt that too much time traveling to and from places of interest was wasted, especially in Thailand as it was mainly on a highway with hardly anything to see. If I were to do this (or similar) itinerary again I would be seriously considering another cruise line with smaller ships which dock closer to places of interest (IMHO)

More than likely you cruised the Millineum before Captian Alex was there? He is by far my favorite Captian and his officers are excellent and are seen everywhere. I prefer the Millenium class ships versus the S-Class because of the size 2,2000 passengers, the pool deck is much nicer as are the pools, the cabins are laid out better with more storage. We are going to SE Asia on the Millenium in 2019 yes Bangkok is a long drive but we are in port for two full days, I booked a private tour we will spend the night at a 5-star hotel (The Chatman Riverside) in a grand suite for $160.00 night and drive back to the ship the next afternoon. Hanoi is a long way from the port also but again we spend the night I will spend one day seeing Hanoi the next Cruising through both Halong Bay-Bai Tu Long Bay on a private Junk with 16 others from our roll call. These tours are private but very affordable. Land Tour to Asia how much time do you spend checking in checking out of hotels, traveling to airports or train stations, you are going to waste way more time than I will on a Cruise.

Captain Alex came on half way through our trip on 14th of January All the officers were great. Other staff too but we still had a better experience on Connie. We also stayed in a very nice hotel in Bangkok - on a private tour. Still it was three hours on a bus there and back. I am not saying it was not a good trip. All I am saying that this trip taught me to choose ports and excursions with taking travel time into account. On our next trip we will be in Cozumel and Costa Maya. We really want to see the pyramids - we are not very "beachy" people (no pun intended :) ) however the long travel is really putting me off - still agonizing on what to do there.

Have sailed both ships, Connie more than once and Millie from HK to Singapore. We loved the Asian itinerary on Milllie. We stayed overnight in Bangkok and took a 2 day private tour - well worth it.

HK was fabulous and Singapore (we’ve visited several times on the way to/from Australia) is also worth staying for a few days pre/post cruise. In Vietnam, again we booked a private tour with others off our sailing and had a fabulous day in HCM city.

Both ships have casinos and there are hardly any differences between the two. That said, we do prefer Connie on M class and Silhouette out of the S class (the itinerary would have to be brilliant for us ever to consider Reflection again in Europe). Staying in a corner FV on both Connie and Millie has been an added advantage - best balconies on the ship, except for the PH ;).

We sailed each ship with similar (but slightly different) itineraries...The Connie in Feb17 and the Millie in Feb18. Loved Loved Loved both cruises!! Looking back though I think I preferred the Millie for 2 reasons...Capt Alex was by far the most personable & amusing Capt I can remember on all my sea journeys. Heck, he even greeted every passenger on disembarkation and was always at the Socials to meet and greet. Second, I think I preferred starting at one port and ending in another rather than the roundtrip port cruise. As said by others, it's all about the itinerary and keep in mind the weather and time of year. This last Millie trip started of cold in HK late January and ended hot in Singapore (which is pretty much hot anyway). Yes, there are long journeys to specific cities from the cruise ports, Bangkok, Saigon and Hanoi were ours, but hey you traveled along way to see this part of the world enjoy the ride!!! We did Bangkok & Saigon both cruises...and if you get the overnight in Leam Chibang (sp) you MUST overnight it in Bangkok...way too much fun, too much to see and 5 star hotels are relativity cheap!

Don't be a tourist...be a traveler!

Just an idea for you if you want to see a very interesting Maya site on Cozumel just a short ride from where you dock. We have been to Chichen Itza and Tulum and enjoyed them both. San Gervasio Ruins are smaller but very interesting and very important to the Maya people. If you go take a cab on your own and you should HIRE A GUIDE to take you through. This is my favorite Maya Site! After you are finished enjoy San Miguel shopping and have lunch.
