Laundry Room next to Suite?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone please offer advice regarding the noise from the laundry room, if your suite is next door?

Can you hear any noise from the machines?

What about early morning or night?

What if it's the only suite available?

Need some advice. The itinerary is on the Navigator.

Thanks

Sheila

Sheila,

Can't address the Navigator but we have been across from the laundrette on the Explorer and heard zero noise. The door is fairly heavy, and the machines are not as noisy as home machines. In addition, there are rules about laundry hours; I believe 8:00 pm is closing time -- have no idea about opening time. Hope someone who has Navigator experience will chime in.

Enjoyed meeting you briefly on the TA last November. Have a great cruise.

Hi Sheila,

We were on deck 9 one cruise on Navigator, and about 4 doors up from the laundry room.

We never heard any noise when we passed, and my sister in law and her husband were on same deck a few years later right opposite the laundry and again had no issues at all. Jean.

Thank you for commenting on this! We will be near the laundry facilities and the elevator on the Mariner’s 10th floor. While our TA assured us that noise would not be a factor from either, I have been a bit concerned.

The Mariner is probably the most sound-proofed ship in the fleet and the Navigator is the lease sound=proof.

The laundry room is not open late at night on any ship and there typically is no noise from the laundry rooms. However, no guarantees.

We had a suite directly opposite one of the laundry rooms on Voyager.

Generally no problem with noise and it was very handy just to be able to nip across to quickly run an iron over things.

One day we did hear some muffled “talking” and went out to see what was going on. It turned out that there was no one using the laundry but someone had left the TV in the laundry room on full volume with the door left open
