firefighterman Posted March 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2018 I have ATT in South Carolina, and I use my phone in the US territories like SJ at no extra charge, you might however check with your provider.
Rare John&LaLa Posted March 29, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2018 SJ is fine, Guam on the other hand is not. I had a young lady at T-Mobile tell me Guam is not a US territory. [emoji33] Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app
GeorgesGal Posted April 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 14, 2018 Not only can you make free phone calls from San Juan, but also from/to the USVI St Thomas and St John, but also to/from Hawaii.
broadwaybaby123 Posted April 23, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2018 You may want to check with your provider, but my guess is no, since Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US.
rtwoodbury Posted April 23, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Our Verizon phones worked fine in San Juan, but not in Humacao (town on southeast coast). Suggest you consult your provider before going.
Xkontour98 Posted April 24, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 24, 2018 I was okay with Sprint in SJ and the US VI. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

jkelly8646 Posted June 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 3, 2018 I've used AT&T in Old San Juan, it worked as well as anywhere else on the mainland US, with no additional data charges.
Trueblueky Posted June 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 5, 2018 Make sure you access through a PR tower. We were in Alaska on land calling home, but the call accessed the ship somehow and we were charged as if we had called from onboard the ship. ATT reversed that after we explained it to them.
