On which ships can I NOT put 5 people in one standard balcony cabin?

Wait. Can you put 5 people in the cabins with two Pullman beds? Looking at a cruise on Freedom and some friends with three young kids were looking at options. Disregarding space and only having one bathroom, is that even something Royal allows?

No, those rooms do not exist on Freedom class.

The regular rooms that hold 5 have a sofabed with one Pullman. They are identified on the deckplans with a solid black diamond.

Hmmm, the only room on Freedom that I saw with a Black Diamond was the Villa Suite.

There are many cruise staterooms that “could” hold X number of people, but are not available to book.

Keep in mind that a cruise line has to consider dining room limits, lifeboat requirements, child care capabilities, and other factors that affect individual room capacity. Availabilty will differ depending on individual sailings.

Additionally, some lines will restrict stateroom capacity in order to balance the adult vs. kids passenger makeup since cruisers are looking at their vacation experience from many different angles.

What cruise line differentiates between adult vs children bookings to insure a vacation experience
