grovesteve Posted April 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Hi all, I just booked my first Oceania cruise on the Sirena. Have done many cruises, lately on NCL. What can my wife and I expect differant and do we have to dress for dinner? We have gotten very spoiled on NCL not having to dress. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Yes you need to dress for dinner unless dining in your cabin  Clothes are not optional on Oceania That said you can wear Dockers & a collared shirt to the dining venues A nice skirt, dress slacks & nice top for ladies will be fine No Jacket, suit or TUX required but if you want to wear one no one will care
warburg Posted April 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2018 Greetings rom South Beach, grovesteve. There are no tie racks on O ships, so you are definitely in resort casual territory. Mary

Mary There was a tie rack in the closet, maybe removed. Mostly unused though I am sure.

Mura Posted April 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 4, 2018 It's about 8 years since we did an NCL cruise (we were booked in 2015 on one but had to cancel at the last minute) ... I didn't notice much difference in the dress code between Oceania and NCL then. Maybe I was sleeping ... Mura

Mura The most significant difference between the two is that subject to an exception or two shorts are permitted at dinner in NCL dining rooms. As you know on Oceania at dinner the only venue permitting you to wear shorts is the Terrace Cafe.
Mura Posted April 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 5, 2018 I wouldn't have noticed since I'd never consider wearing shorts to dinner, even in the buffet ... unless perhaps the weather was blazing hot! But it's good to know that difference. Thanks for the input. Mura
