Tahitianbigkahuna Posted April 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2018 (edited) Capturing stunning sunsets in French Polynesia never gets old ... I could do that for weeks. This picture was taken as the PG was leaving Motu Mahana ... Mount Otemanu on Bora Bora is 15 miles away ... fisherman returning from the reef. Memories ... CruiseGal999 Posted April 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Really beautiful. Thank you. I LOVE sunset pictures with clouds ... more like the first photo. So much more interesting than just sun dipping behind water. Those are beautiful too ... just saying my preference.

DavidTheWonderer Posted April 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2018 These are gorgeous. But if there are no clouds at sunset all is not lost: it is an ideal time to see a green flash.

You make a very good point David .... The pictures I take of the sunsets are done from the Paul Gauguin as we leave an island. The capture what is there in that very moment, there are no second chances from the location, sort of like shooting weddings which I do many ... there are no re-dues. Most of the pictures I take are during an excursion during the day .... when the lighting is the most harsh, again sort of like a wedding which are usually done during harsh lighting .... you make the best of what you have to work with.
