Departing Australia for cruise

If by "stuff" you are referring to the contraband goods drugs etc then yes. Your luggage will be scanned prior to going onboard and your carry on will also be scanned prior to boarding the ship.

You will check-in after your luggage has been dropped and the carry on luggage, as well as your person, will be scanned as part of the boarding process after you have checked in.

The whole process is not invasive nor intrusive unless you have something to hide.

Enjoy Australia

There are "things" that need to be reviewed by the gov when leaving Australia https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/ente/goin/departing . Will this "stuff" be checked by immigration at the port before checking in at Princess?

Yep, but other than scanning, questionnaire and cute little puppies, never had any real issues on a round trip cruise, haven’t done one that ends anywhere else so not sure if they’re more thorough on say a Trans Pacific.
