We stayed st Barcelona house hotel just off Las rambles towards the port 2 no the walk to where you get the port buses. Excellent location , no e rooms and staff lovely. Would highly recommend it

My vote is for the Hotel Jazz! Great made on site pasta restaurant about a block and a half away. The hotel's rooftop bar and pool are very nice

I second the recommendation for the Hotel Jazz. Stayed there pre-cruise in 2009 before 12 night sailing on Brilliance of the Seas.

Try Hotel Arc La Rambla. Right on Las Ramblas. About 15 min from port. Was there in June 2016. Very clean. Paid about 120 US. Would not hesitate to stay there again

In October, we stayed at the H10 Montcado. It's a lovely boutique hotel in the gothic quarter and has a great rooftop bar.

It's been a few years but my most recent departure from BCN I stayed at the Hostal BCN Port. It's basic, but it served the purpose and was an easy walk to Las Ramblas and the port.

 

Previous stay we were at the B Hotel, which was nice - but was a good bit further to get in to the goodies.

Another vote for Universal Barcelona; stayed there in 2015. Great location, right outside the Metro that has the stop for the Funicular. Easy walk to good spots or take the metro back to the hotel when tired. Rooms were decent sized, roof had some nice views.

We stayed in Hotel 1898 - right at Las Ramblas... it was a very nice, clean place and a close taxi ride to the port.

 

Another vote for Hotel 1898. Great location. Wonderful rooms. Lovely rooftop bar and pool we enjoy after a day of sightseeing. AND, there is a Starbucks right off the lobby on Las Ramblas.
