sellwingri Posted April 27, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2018 We're pretty loyal to Royal Caribbean but I keep getting offers from Caesars Entertainment about taking a free cruise on Norwegian. Today I received an email with a choice of multiple cruises. I know that Norwegian is more casual with no formal nights but what else should I expect? I'm also a card player so I'm interested in the casinos. Do they all have Ultimate Texas Holdem and 3-card poker?

Rare graphicguy Posted April 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 27, 2018 I'm not loyal to any cruise line. I do love me some NCL, though. The last one I took was a couple of years ago on the Getaway. We played Hold'em every night, usually into the wee hours of the morning. Not sure about 3 card. It's a beautiful ship. I've sailed the EPIC, too. Loved it as well. Last RCCL cruise I took was on the Harmony. It was a cruise, so I had fun. But, NCL has a bit better food and entertainment. Their service is a bit better, too. Doesn't make RCCL bad. I'll sail them again if the right itinerary pops up. I just enjoy NCL more....seems to be more to do. Plus, I found I seemed to always be in line on the Allure and Harmony. Didn't much like that. You won't have the drink "perks" you enjoy with RCCL, but NCL is offering their drink package on most cabin categories right now. For the cost of the service charges, you have run of the bars and restaurants for drinks. That's a great deal. Not sure what the "Nickel and Dime" thing comes from. You pay for what you choose. Pretty simple to me.
helen haywood Posted April 27, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2018 What ship? I've only sailed on Getaway and Escape and we're Elite Plus with Celebrity and Diamond with Royal. We LOVED those ships!! We loved the Waterfront concept. We loved that there are three MDRs and two of them, Taste and Savor are smaller venues that feel like a specialty restaurant. Great that a MDR is open for lunch on embarkation day. Coffee makers in the cabins. On those two ships and the newer ones there are USB charging ports by the bed. Loved that O'Sheehans was a 24/7 option. Can get food anytime and a cooked to order hamburger anytime. The specialty restaurants are much cheaper than Celebrity's. It was nice to see some new/different menus and shows than what we've grown used to on Celebrity.
