Dinning with 2.

Haven't done NCL in about a decade. So can't remember how Freestyle dining works. Taking a cruise with one friend. We would like to not be eat alone just the two of us each night.Part of the fun of a cruise is eating at a table with others.

 

If a friend and I go to the dining room. Will we be seated at a table for two automatically. Or will they seat you with a group sometimes like in a Traditional dining room. Or are the large tables just for large groups traveling together.

 

We are best friends but can eat just the two of us anytime on land. Like to eat with a group on a cruise.

NCL does not group seat unless requested. It is not the norm. You will be seated at a table for 2. The large tables are for large groups traveling together.

you can tell them that you are ok table sharing, but youll only be put with others if they too say they want to table share which ive only seen/heard maybe 3 times.

 

we usually just meet people on board and end up dining with them. on our recent 14 nighter we met 2 couples early on. I think we only dined just the 2 of us 3 times the whole sail!

If you're solo cruisers you can go to the solo meetups and they usually do a group dinner following the happy hour. Otherwise you only sit with those you show up with, as others said.

They will ask if you would like to be seated with others or by yourself. You can get a table for two. You may have to wait a few extra minutes.

Make friends at the pool, or casino, or anywhere...see if they want to join you at dinner! We, too, enjoy tablemates...so on other cruise lines, we always do traditional seating where the chance of table mates is much greater!

You will most likely be seated with just the two of you but you can ask if any one wants to share. The only time NCL has asked us if we wanted to share was at breakfast when the MDR was really crowded.
