Anomaly on wording about tipping in Countdown to Cruise

I saw something strange in the Countdown to Cruise:

Royal Caribbean has implemented the Automatic Gratuity Program, the program is available in two options:

a. For the convenience of guests, pre-paid gratuities may be arranged online or added to your booking by your travel agent, before your sail date, at a daily rate of $14.50 USD gratuity ($17.50 USD for Suite Guests).

b. If a guest chooses not to pre-pay gratuities, Royal Caribbean automatically adds a $13.50 USD gratuity ($16.50 USD for Suite Guests) to each guest’s SeaPass® account on a daily basis.

I thought the automatic tip amount was 14.50 for non-suite guests however it read 13.50 if you do not prepay. Is this just old wording they forgot to fix?

Definitely an error. Here's what our Guest Ticket Booklet, ie cruise document, for the Anthem cruise we did earlier this month showed for this.

Gratuities

A $14.50 per guest, per day gratuity will be automatically

added to each guest’s SeaPass® account on a daily basis

to be shared among dining, bar & culinary services staff,

stateroom attendants and other hotel services teams who

work behind the scenes to enhance the cruise experience.

Suite guests will see a $17.50 daily gratuity.

Guests who prepaid gratuities prior to boarding their

cruise will not see a daily charge onboard.

An 18% gratuity is also automatically added to beverages

and the mini bar. Beverage gratuities are pooled and

shared by various dining and beverage service staff. An 18%

gratuity is added to spa and salon purchases. Gratuities for

other service personnel are at your discretion.

*Guests who booked prior to January 2, 2018 can pre-pay

gratuities before their sailing at the previous rates, which

are $13.50 for standard staterooms and $16.50 for suites.

They have never employed a proof reader. I have applied many times, and "crickets". ;) :D

Hey Carol, apply again; I'll vouch for you. Maybe you can help with things like this doozy I found in the cruise planner under massages. A very nice photo graphic of a woman getting a bamboo massage, but her foot is on backwards.

How the he** could no one have caught this???

If you booked cruise while gratuity was still $13.50 saw somewhere if you prepay gratuity will be charged the old rate but if done daily during cruise would be charged the new higher rate. I am sure they only do this to get their "bird" in hand rather than deal with possibility of someone removing auto gratuities.
