Roll or Fold

This is probably one of the best videos to show rolling-in packing potential. I pack this way on the way to the cruise and just stuff everything in on the way back. :D

 

 

This looked more like alternating stack & 1/2 fold vs. rolling. I fold, but place upright (like hanging file folders) like the Kon Mari method for folding and storing clothes at home. I find it easier to see everything while taking less space than stacking flat folded and don't notice many wrinkles. I might try rolling sometime. My daughter did that for her mission trip where they were limited on luggage.

I roll mostly because it saves room. I'm not sure it creases less but it does not crease any more.

We fold.

 

We only travel with carry on and we do not fill our roller so that everything is squished.

 

We buy clothes specifically with travel in mind. Easy care fabrics. Makes a huge difference. Anything linen stays home.

I put them in compression sacks such as these - https://www.rei.com/product/118854/rei-co-op-lightweight-compression-stuff-sack. Things get horribly wrinkled but it is amazing how much you can stuff into a compression sack and I just don't care if thery are wrinkled.
