Got cabin on CB Plaza deck near doors leading to the Art Gallery & IC....does anyone know how bad the noise might be there ?
You won’t hear noise from the Art Gallery but if the stabilizers are deployed, you may experience vibration and noise as the ship moves side-to-side.

You can always change your cabin to another location as long as it’s the same or lower category.

I was in P325 on the Crown, so not as close to IC as 334, but I heard no noise from the Piazza or the art gallery. It was an excellent location - so convenient to pop into the cabin between dinner and other evening activities. And so nice being close to the IC for early morning coffee or late night snacks to bring back to your cabin.

We just returned from a 10 day cruise on the CB a week ago. We were in cabin P235 and we loved the location. No noise from the Piazza or the International Café. However, like Pam stated, the thrusters were out quite a bit and I think they were under our cabin! The first time was in the middle of the night, and it was rattling the glasses, the bottles and all. It was awful, we couldn't even sleep! The seas were quite rough, so I know they needed to use them. There were people 2 doors down and they were complaining about it. Sometimes it would be during the day, so I knew it was thrusters.

But for a little noise, ok a lot of noise, but I would do it again for just the location!

dtagirl;

I noticed on the deck plans your cabin was a connecting cabin.....did you have much noise coming from the other cabin? Our cabin will be connecting & I'm concerned about that .

Doh! I meant to say "stabilizers." The thrusters are used entering and leaving port; the stabilizers are deployed at sea. Mea culpa.

Something else to think about. We are just off Golden Princess. They used deck 4 on port days to exit the ship. Doors were open all day long. For us the weather was cold. Deck 5 was freezing all day long as well as the Atrium. If you are traveling in warm/hot weather I can only imagine the hallways might be warm all day. From past experience the cabins do not cool off well while in port. Once underway things went back to normal.

Our favorite (and usual) location on all Princess ships is Plaza deck in the area closer to the IC. Very convenient to so much and no noise from above or below. We had a forward cabin on a similar deck on a HAL ship last year and there must have been an office above us--would hear voices, scrapping of chairs on the floor, etc. after we went to bed. Although it was otherwise convenient to the theater, the forward elevators, the casino (up one deck via the front stairs), I would never book that particular cabin again.

I was wondering if the International Cafe (IC) was noisy & could be heard much in the area of cabin P334?

I was in P334 on the Emerald, LA to YVR 5/09-13 . No noise from IC but we had bumpy seas going up the coast and had noise like something heavy being rolled around. Asked room steward and he said the Casino was above so really did not make sense of what could be making noise. Noise very noticeable in early morning but only while we were in bumpy seas. No noise when smooth seas. It is a connecting room and only heard neighbors a few times but nothing too disturbing.

Love plaza deck so close to IC and activites on plaza deck. No noise from IC But around 3 or 4 am there is noise on lower decks. Maybe the thrusters on setting up anchors. Will bring ear plugs next time

Our cabin was not a connecting cabin. It was a regular room, but I will say there was more than enough storage in the cabin.

On a side note, they do use deck 4 to get off the ship, but never noticed any increase in temperature. On the last day we debarked from deck 5, so it was very convenient. And above us was the crown grill, so no noise from above, just below! From the stabilizers!
