Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted June 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2018 NZ cruises are great. You might like to search the Australia/NZ Ports of Call forum for ideas on what to do at each port on your itinerary. Also check the Royal Caribbean forum, you might find info on your cabin, or one similar, there. If your cruise goes to Milford Sound my tip is to be up on deck, on the port side, before the ship enters the sound. You'll see why when you get there. sewgood Posted June 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 28, 2018 One person did a day to day post of their trip around NZ on the Princess board. Lots of photos and information. It was some time ago now so a search would be needed. I have done the NZ cruise a few times now and there is lots to see and do. The Giant's House in Akaroa is great if you don't go into Christchurch. Dunedin is has a terrific Chinese Garden and Pioneer Muesum just right next to each other. There are wildlife colonies to vist, it just depends on what interests you. Google a few of the places and see what comes up. There is plenty to do to fill in each day. We still have not seen everything. What ever you choose to do you will have a great time on your cruise of NZ.

JacintaH Posted June 30, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2018 I adore traveling to NZ. Beautiful country and lovely people. Highlights of our prior cruises there include * Milford Sound - yes be on the upper deck. * Dunedin - we did a wildlife tour of the Otago Penninsula * Akaroa - Tour to see Dusky Dolphins * Wellington - stacks to see either by tour or on your own * Bay of Islands - Russel (Hell Hole of the South Pacific) or Waitangi Treaty Grounds. Both significant historical sites.

GUT2407 Posted July 1, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Has anyone done a sheep farm excursion? They sound like a lot of fun. They’re great if you have never spent time on a working property.
Rare MicCanberra Posted July 1, 2018 #9 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Lots of areas do the 'farm show' now, they are very entertaining and usually have a sheep shearing and a sheep dog demonstration plus a few other aspects on the farm.
