Free Pinnacle Cruise - Urban Myth dispelled?

Recommended Posts

I never heard of that, but you are correct that is sad.

No plans to try MSC yet. Our status match still has another year. If we branch out, it will be for something more upscale. I am hoping to do a Silver Seas cruise that stops in Dutch Harbor. Maybe 2020 or so. Laura's mother grew up there.

John - we just did Azamara in the Med and loved it - top notch food and service.

Free cruises (actually complementary) do not receive C&A points. Includes casino , Pinnacle or any other complementary sailings.

However, if you spend any amount of money for an upgrade you will receive C&A points.

This was explained to me over the phone by a C&A rep and a Casino Royale rep.

I only cruise with complementary rooms through the casino. (around three per year) These do show up on my profile with C&A points.

We did a "free" cruise from Casino Royale. As part of their prime tier.

We sailed on the Harmony 07/07/19. Had a chance to upgrade to a WS guarantee. And wound up with a GS.

They told us you get C&A points for the comped cruises. Even without upgrading.

Sorry for not responding sooner but we were using our free cruises.

The free pinnacle cruise was on the Oasis 07/15/18. We were able to upgrade to a WS guarantee for a reasonable price ($700) To get the points. But it wasn't only the points my wife loves to have the coffee maker in the room.

That's great! Was the one you upgraded the more recent or the first free cruise? Just trying to figure out if upgrading makes a difference if the points stick or don't stick, or if it could be a recent policy change.

I have taken two free B of A cruises and received points for both, and we did not pay to upgrade. Instead of being free, the rep I booked them with charged me one dollar per person for each cruise. That way they weren't "free" and we received the points.

It took about 4 months to fix a points error (the error was in my favor).

Did you tell them or did they find it on their own?

The pre inaugural was by the end of March. Points are still there... So it´s almost 4 months now.
