Midfield13 Posted July 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Has anyone disembarked and embarked on a different pier with Princess on the same day. What is the most convenient way to get from one pier to the other? Does Princess offer a shuttle or any other means? ie ...a golf cart etc...... Diver2014 Posted July 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Princess usually docks at Pier 2 at Port Everglades. If more than one Princess ship is in, the other will usually dock just to the south of pier 2 at pier 3 or 4, all within walking distance of each other. You might want to contact Princess to ask if they provide a shuttle between ships if you have a lot of luggage.
moki'smommy Posted July 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Princess does not officially offer a shuttle, but they have been known to transport luggage and people, often having an airport bus make a stop at the other terminal before heading out. We were at pier 19, which is not walking distance to pier 2, at least not with luggage. My first suggestion is to talk to Passenger Services a couple days before disembarkation to see what they are willing to do for you. If they won't meet your needs and you are not in easy walking distance, a cab is only about $5.
FLCruise7 Posted July 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2018 It will also depend on where the first ship departed from and returned to. We were on the Crown which departed from terminal 2 and returned to terminal 19 ( I think). When the Crown came in, the Regal was sitting at terminal 2. Because of people parking at 2, there was a complimentary shuttle to terminal 2. We took it and got on the Regal.
skynight Posted July 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted July 4, 2018 If no shuttle and the piers are not adjacent take a taxi or Uber. In port taxi is US$10. Also sometimes there is an in port garage shuttle from the north port garage to mid port garage and back.
casavaha Posted July 4, 2018 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2018 Be very wary of anything Reception tells you on the ship. Most of the time they are very uninformed of whats happening in Port Everglades. The only transport you can depend upon is a taxi (uber or Lyft) or walking. Greg
weedpindle Posted July 4, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2018 For those of you who have not done this and are speculating what may happen and really don't know.. We have done this. Talk to passenger services before the end of the first cruise. Tell them you will be on another ship at a different pier and require transportation. They will arrange it. Period. We were the only two people on a 40 passenger bus. No cost.
johnmik1 Posted July 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2018 We jumped from one ship to another and they were across the basin so Princess provided a shuttle bus for everyone and their luggage.I think it depend on how many passengers are doing both cruises. Crystal04 Posted July 5, 2018 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2018 I used the shuttle when I transferred from Crown to Regal earlier this year. The first one was full and the next one arrived 2 minutes later. It was very simple. I didn't talk to passenger services beforehand.

InAlabama Posted July 5, 2018 #12 Share Posted July 5, 2018 As others have stated, finding someone that actually knows what is going on with transfers can be difficult. We transferred from the Regal, pier 2, to the Crown, pier 19, last January and there was a shuttle. After several attempts we were given instructions on where to catch it, and although the shuttle by-passed a group waiting there we were able to flag it down. The driver didn't really want to take us to the other pier but we got on anyway. You will have plenty of time, we did a late walk off and still had to wait at checkin for the second cruise as they didn't open the doors until about 1045. Depending on how many ships are in port on your transfer day, you might get lucky and be able to walk between piers 2 and 4. You might also come back into a different pier so plan ahead by checking the schedule at https://pevvesseltraffic.broward.org/webx/
voljeep Posted July 5, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 5, 2018 One time we went out of 2 and came back into 19 - don't know if it was a change or we just didn't know enough to know about it...took the shuttle, and it took maybe an extra hour to get back to 2 and on the road. next time we knew that was going to happen, and use the cruise port park and ride - which worked out well for us, if that had to happen now this was on the same ship(s) - not going from one to another

We were the only two people on a 40 passenger bus. No cost. That's the way we did it a while back. Also note that if you're parking your car, even off premise, the shuttle that the parking lot provides will transport you to the new ship at no charge since they circle around to all the ships sooner or later. No need to have Princess involved.

We met another couple doing the same B2B Regal/Crown itinerary and moved their car from the lot near pier 2 to one closer to pier 19 during the transfer. Then they had to find a way back to the new lot when we returned to pier 2. There was no ship at pier 19 that day so there was no Princess shuttle.
