MsSoCalCruiser Posted September 15, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Incorrect. If you win a spa room, you get spa access. Thank you.
lisakoivu Posted September 16, 2018 #27 Share Posted September 16, 2018 Because I think actual experience is most reliable, I will say that we bid on a balcony in March 2018 on BA. We were originally booked on an inside. We bid $50 CDN pp and were awarded a SPA balcony. Yes, spa access came with it. As you can imagine, we were over the moon. thymeismoney Posted September 17, 2018 #28 Share Posted September 17, 2018 So I saw somebody say you only get access if you paid for the upgrade. My SO and I are thinking of using our credit card reward on an upgrade to the spa balcony from a balcony. Would that include the spa access? It doesn't matter if you move to it by bidding or pay for the upgrade. Spa access is an amenity that goes with the cabin.

My SO and I are thinking of using our credit card reward on an upgrade to the spa balcony from a balcony. Would that include the spa access? So,,,, there are many posts on this thread which are very, very clear. If you are in a Spa room, regardless of how you got it, you get spa access. If you have a B9, M9, or H9 room, you get spa access. Doesn't matter if you bought it, bid for an upgrade to it, used credits to get it, or got it for free (from the casino). If you are in a spa room, you get spa access.

Sorry I didn't mean to sound redundant but I was confused because someone in here previously wrote it is only if you paid for the room and I would've been using my reward points which technically wouldn't have been paying for the room. Thank you for the clarification! The credit card rewards won't even allow us to do that which is BS.

cruisinsc1 Posted October 11, 2019 #34 Share Posted October 11, 2019 That would be like upgrading to a balcony stateroom and not allowed access to use the balcony.
bob brown Posted October 11, 2019 #35 Share Posted October 11, 2019 The only "perk" that you don't get when upgrading up to a suite, is the extra latitude points credit, AFAIK...every other suite perk comes with the room, as has been said. That is the crux of the matter - the upgrade - if you did not have the spa access before the upgrade you DO NOT get it with the upgrade. You do take any amenities perks promos with you from the original booking but do not get the amenities from the upgraded cabin. - SORRY NCL rules. Never experienced that! NCL agent told me the only way you WOULD NOT get spa passes is if you received the room by using a guarantee booking or using a booking upgrade that you do not pay for. By bidding you are paying for that room and all that comes with it. I also asked about taxes and fees since I already paid for them and that is not an extra on top of your bid. On 9/14/2018 at 11:16 PM, MsSoCalCruiser said: Thank you. After reading your post I clicked on the spa balcony picture on the upgrade email and saw what you had posted for me. I don't know why I bother asking the cruise line employees questions. I should always just rely on my CC family. Exactly! I booked a minisuite guarantee on the Epic and was assigned a spa mini suite. I had no clue of my good fortune. About three days into the cruise we walked down to the thermal spa and were delighted to find out that was our benefit.
