Missus_Aitch Posted August 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 13, 2018 Is there a better or worse side of the Magic to be on when arriving at or departing from Bermuda? Thinking of views of the island or noise, if any. Thanks!
1025cruise Posted August 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 13, 2018 There's no way to know. 1. The Magic has not yet docked in Bermuda. This is the first season. 2. Operations might require the ship to dock a specific way.
dexddd Posted August 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2018 As far as a better way, just depends what you want. If you want island view, then port side. If ocean and over to Hamilton and St. George (for lights at night) then starboard side. Ships vary week to week there - those that go there week after week usually stick to one way for 3-4 weeks and then the other week go the other side for life boat drills. Happens, although rare, they will even swap sides while there.
Wyoming2010 Posted August 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2018 I asked this same question on another thread for NCL -- this is our second cruise to Bermuda and the first time we were port and facing the port. It was grand because you could see the fort, etc. But we were told that there is no determining whether the ship will pull in or back in, so there's no way to know which side will face the port on a weekly basis. Either way though, I think the views will be great.
