mitch039 Posted August 17, 2018 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2018 Having read several threads about available plugs sockets, adaptors etc, I was wondering if the TV’s were of an age that they have USB ports on the back/side that can be used as an extra charging option. Has been handy in the past when hotels have been limited on sockets. Mitch
Potstech Posted August 17, 2018 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2018 If they are they are probably hard to get to. I always carry a 4 port charger that can charge any of my devices including my cameras.
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted August 17, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2018 we had a two-port charger plugged into a 2-head splitter and that was enough for all three of our phones/tablets, plus a toothbrush charger, plus a camera charger.
floridalover5623 Posted August 17, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2018 I wouldn't count on using the TV USB outlet to charge much of anything even if you can get to it. Bring your own multi-USB charging outlet. You would think the newer ships would have USB charging outlets by the desk along with 2 AC outlets. Potstech Posted August 17, 2018 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2018 They should get clocks that have both electrival outlets and usb ports for beside the beds. Saw them in hotel rooms in Hawaii.
bdojoe Posted August 18, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Stayed in a Suite on the Royal. No USB outlets anywhere; no place to plug in chargers by the bed; no phone by the bed - not too impressive for the latest and greatest.

I get the impression that the designers for new Princess ships are 10 years behind the times with adding conveniences that are almost standard for most other cruise lines & hotels.

voljeep Posted August 18, 2018 #9 Share Posted August 18, 2018 should easily replace those plug in night lites with battery operated 'tea lights' and place them anywhere with no need to tie up an outlet buy them in a box for about $5.00 -usually last a full 7 days even when forgetting to turn them off during the day... leave for steward if still working...;p

We never use the bathroom outlet for anything other than the night light. We use them not only on cruses but in hotels that do not have bathroom night lights. We used them for our grandchildren in their mini suite cabin on the Regal last year. At home, each of the three grandchildren have one in their room, one in the hallway, and one in the bathroom. If they wake up during the night to go potty they can easily find their way without waking anyone up. We've had them for years so no need to keep spending money on battery night lights.:) Howard
-Lew- Posted August 18, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 18, 2018 I would caution the OP to use the charging block that came with the device. Plugging your device's charging cable into a USB port of unknown voltage and wattage is asking for trouble. Apple's charging block conditions and delivers power within the device's parameters. reiddg Posted August 18, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2018 (edited) Just bought this on Amazon to use on our cruises. It's about the same diameter as a CD and about an inch thick. Very good reviews. https://www.amazon.com/NTONPOWER-Outlets-Charging-Extension-Business/dp/B0727WZM6R/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1534633063&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=power%2Bstrips%2Bwith%2Busb&th=1: Edited August 18, 2018 by reiddg
