Tipping Longshoremen--do you or don't you?

I hate tipping and anyone who begs for tips. People who tip are trying to promote American culture or their sense of moral superiority. I could give you many reasons why tipping is evil but then I will be attacked...

I always tip 15 dollars for our four heavy bags. I have yet to encounter a longshoreman who overtly expected a tip.

I am Canadian so am not actively promoting what you refer to as American culture. I am just pleased to receive friendly and efficient service and don’t mind expressing it in a tangible way.

Rick Steves should develop a cruise ship shop franchise - offer things that travellers really need and want. Or didn't even know they needed and wanted them. Better than the direction HAL shops are currently going - don't need and don't want.

Now there's an idea ! :) A good idea.
