Princess cruise checkin with MDL as id

Princess cruise checkin for a 4 day cruise from Fremantle . Online checkin has only passport id option , where you can use a photo mdl as id . What have others done ? Do you just put your mdl # instead of passport number . Replies from those that have done this please , not those that are guessing . TIA .:D

Last time I did an Australian Princess cruise I had the same problem and Princess told me to just put DL and then my driving license number in.

Do you have a passport?? If so, just use that..but if you don't it does not really matter ..your ID will be confirmed when you check in at the pier, you don't need to do an on line checki in .just have your booking details with you.

We always use our passports even for domestic cruises, makes check in quicker.

Am also in the passport camp. It just makes things simpler, that it's never going to be an issue.

A few years ago, my SIL who doesn't have a passport or a drivers licence, used her citizen card but needed the cruise line to enter the details for the cruise planner. It was 5 minutes on the phone for her.

I’ve cruised a few times without a passport, first few wee prior to al this online check in, just presented our license at check in.

 

Then had a passport.

 

Then it expired back to licences, if the personaliser wouldn’t take it just gave them a ring.

I am Legally Blind with no passport, so I use a Proof-Of-Age Card issued by the Transport SA. I paid less than $40 for it-sorry don't remember the exact price from 2016. No problems at check-in at the OPT.

 

If I ever want to cruise to New Zealand, I must get a passport.
