Path station is an easy walk from the hotel. Tomorrow we’ll be going to Manhattan. So I’ll let you know how it is to get to the city.

Thanks, @simoner - we'll be on the return part of the voyage (spending time in Quebec City?). Interested in how you get to Manhattan as we'll be doing that after we dock.

Just had a relaxing afternoon. I’m pretty exhausted. Probably from yesterday (and maybe the jet lag still)

We have traditional dining at 8 pm, so we went to the welcome aboard show at 7 pm.

Current cruise director on Adventure is Bill Bronckhorst.

I kind of forgot to take picture of the menu and my food. [emoji854]

But before my dessert arrived I remembered that I wanted to take pictures.

For starter I had crispy fried calamaris - excellent! As an entree I had Prime Rib and for dessert warm hazelnut cake and added a scoop of vanilla ice cream. IMG_1108.thumb.JPG.912a070709929332cbdfcf8fa10070df.JPG

Just before heading to the cabin I took some pictures of the pool and solarium. Also found peek-a-boo-bridge, but there was nothing to see tonight. So I’ll be going back tomorrow.

Hello Simoner - Thanks for the posts. Please keep them coming, along with the nice pictures. What time did you sail out of Cape Liberty? Was it around 3pm (1500)? Regards.

Yes, sail away was at 3 pm.

Thanks for doing this review. I am curious as to how you decided on a pre cruise hotel. My recommendation for future cruises would be to ask on this board cruisers local to that specific location or go on TripAdvisor.

My travel agent aka my mom decided for us where to stay. She gets her information from several sources. But I agree with you, that when you don’t work with a travel agent ask for recommendation from local cruisers or cruiser who’ve been before. Personally, I also would check TripAdvisor.

Since we stayed in Jersey City we only used the train to get to Manhattan. But I think I would get an Uber to get from the port to Manhattan. We used an Uber to get from our hotel to the port. Maybe it’s best to ask this question on the designated home port pages of cape Liberty.

We’re going to stay 1 extra night in Quebec City. Perk of having an TA as a mom is that we get to stay at Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.

Are you going to spend time pre-cruise in Quebec City?

We did the Canadian ports cruise a couple of years ago and it was one of our favorites. We did two extra days in Quebec. We did a walking tour of the old town through Viatour, with a guide who was quite informative and fun. We also did a bus tour to Ile D'Orleans and enjoyed that as well. They took us to an ice cream and candy store that had the best ice cream cones ever. It was soft serve, but you could get a thick dipped coating on it of caramel, dark chocolate, or milk chocolate. Huge serving sizes - easily split and the outer coating doesn't fall apart like other ice cream stores. Never had a coating that stayed with the ice cream and didn't flake off.

Thanks for the travel info. A few of us think that Uber is the way to go. I developed a spreadsheet for our cruise (a number of folks on your cruise are doing B2B). See my signature for a link to the spreadsheet, if you are interested.

We arrive on the 17th - the ship is spending two nights in port. What night are you staying at the Chateau? You'll like it ... Fairmont is a great hotel chain (my daughter-in-law used to work for them). We'll be wandering around Old Town the afternoon of the 17th.

Cheers, Morley.

Hi Simone - I'm enjoying following along. Let me know how the Meet & Mingle went. Also, if you participated in the "Slot Pull", were there any big winnings! At the M&M and Slot Pull, If you happen to see a "Mature Lady" (about 5'3") with short silver hair, glasses, and accompanied by several other women about her same age.....That would be my DW (dear wife), Mary. Tell her I (PingPong/Kel) said, "Hi". You might see her group of "Gribble Girls" (6 girls total) around the ship during the week. Maybe all of them will be in the hot tub or at one of the bars. Best Regards.

This morning we attended the meet & mingle and there was a great turnout. After that a group of 29 people of the roll call went to the casino for slot pull.

We started with $435 ($15 per person). We got back $6 each.

@pingpong1 this picture is especially for you. BTW, Mary left after the first round.

Most of the group decided to keep playing. So we put our $6 together. And actually we got a little lucky.

Our payout was $31 per person. So we ended op winning $16 each.

Lunch at windjammer was really crowded, but I think that has to do lot with the weather being to cool to sit outside and it being a sea day.

Planning for a relaxing afternoon, before formal night is coming up.

Thank you so much for this! We disembarked Friday morning (Sept 7th) just as you were embarking! We thought the crew and staff aboard were wonderful. All so polite and helpful.

I wrote a review for Cruise Critic with pictures, but when I pressed the button to save it to their servers, nothing happened. I will keep trying. (I really should post a review to my webpage, but I'm behind about four cruises now) Anyway, here are a few of my thoughts:

Definitely eat in Giovanni's Table (excellent filet mignon) if you are going to choose just one specialty restaurant. We ate at Chops as well (excellent ribeye) but we didn't try Izumi on this cruise.

Wherever possible, avoid the Windjammer buffet (pretty lame and bland and sometimes awful food) and eat breakfast and lunches in the Main Dining Room. For snacks, hit the pizza place on the Promenade.

Our favorite night club was on deck 14... the old Viking Crown Lounge. Do not miss the Silent Disco! So much fun! If Vik is bartending, strike up a conversation with him... he's really fun. If you are Diamond, visit the Diamond Lounge for drinks and hors devours from 4:30p-8p nightly and ask Rafael to tell his crew/helicopter story! You'll love it.

Don't miss the ice skating show.

At least one hot tub stays open 24 hours... fun after a night partying. Ask your cabin steward to provide a robe if he/she hasn't already for those cold nights walking to the hot tub.

Enjoy your cruise! I am so jealous... we only got as far north as Halifax on our cruise... we definitely have Halifax on our bucket list!

It seems like internet doesn’t very well around this time in the evening. Again I’m not able to upload any picture. And this time I remembered to take pictures of the food!

I’ll post the picture tomorrow of the Captain’s welcome aboard reception and the food of course.

Tomorrow will be doing a shore excursion of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain.

We loved this excursion... ours was called the "Intimate tour of Acadia National Park and Cadillac Mountain" if it's the same one. Nice 14 person bus. The guide was very well informed. Bar Harbor is a wonderful town with lots to do, so if you have time before or after your excursion (ours was in the afternoon so we tendered over around 11a and explored and ate lunch in Bar Harbor) I definitely recommend exploring! We ate lobster rolls (delicious!) at Geddy's (I think that was the name) on the main street running up from the tender drop off. Really cool town! We can't wait to go back.

Cadillac Mountain's summit offers spectacular views of the Adventure of the Seas and the surrounding bay and Acadia Park. Have fun!
