lcookie Posted September 25, 2018 Author #101 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Thanks for reviewing Samba. Since the location is the Solarium, did you find it hot, or was it comfortable? Temp was fine. It was enclosed. Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app
Cporfido23 Posted September 25, 2018 #102 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Day 1 Continued - Wow. Here it is Day 3 and I have not cleared out Day 1 yet. So much for the "LIVE" blog huh? Well don't you fear. I will not cut you short. Yall signed up for an adventure and that is what I intend to deliver. So after we board and the WOW factor had set in, I stormed to the reservations desk to finish out my calendar. I had it all set but when I switched to the dining package i had to clear it all out. The paid choices that is. I wanted to get the times I preferred so I knew to jump right on it. Thanks CC! Now on my Davina Cruise I learned a valuable lesson. PRINT EVERYTHING THAT BENEFITS YOU! I was naive and thought no way the Cruise Line could lose any of my reservations. Guess What?? "HOLD MY BEER" was their response. The brunch with galley tour, sushi making class, and cupcake decorating class are all part of the dining package options on the planner but that info was not shared with the ship. "Here you go sir. You don't have to search any further. You can skip the small print and focus on the orange highlighter. It will save you the trouble" I said with the biggest smile on my face. He looks at the papers, at me, back at the papers and said "that was very smart of you". Regardless he had to get his manager to approve it. ??? It's there on your letterhead. They did not give me any troubles and booked me just the way I wanted. Umm excuse me aren't you going to give me that receipt sir? Oh and yes please write included in dinning package do not charge on there. (Prepping for my account dispute at this point just in case) Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app Hi what deck is reservations on sailing this Sunday. lcookie Posted September 25, 2018 Author #105 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Day 2 - Nassau We had smooth sailing into port overnight. When I awoke, I felt the thrusters pushing us up to the dock. As we were getting ready the gangway announcement came over the loud speaker. We left out 30 mins afterwards mentally prepared for the mob that awaited us on the stairs. I'm pleased to announce this was not the case. We were able to take the elevator nonstop down to the gangway and walk right off the ship. If RC can do it with this mass of people why is it the other lines can't do it with less people? We took gangway pics then went to windjammer where we walked right in. To my surprise we were the only act in town; however, the Conquest pulled in while we were eating. Wanting to beat those passengers into port we wrapped it up and headed off. There was a wait for windjammer as we were leaving, but again we went right off the ship. Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app
lcookie Posted September 25, 2018 Author #106 Share Posted September 25, 2018 (edited) Full disclosure these guys don't like to move their vessels until they are riding full. Being a boat owner I get it. We waited upwards of 20 mins for them to recruit more passengers. No biggie the breeze is just fine. Bet you can guess who those additional passengers were. Yes those same Carnival passengers I hastily try to get in front of. Life can be so cruel at times. Where is this bad juju coming from? I am a model citizen and I pay my taxes. Now here's the false advertisement. They said the boat ride was 10 mins. Buddy it was more like 20. This boat had one gear - Tortoise! The tour guide did his best to keep the crowd entertained and did a good job for the most part. His stories were full of dry humor. If you did not know the premise of the joke you were SOL. lcookie Posted September 26, 2018 Author #107 Share Posted September 26, 2018 The Girls The Capt The Tour Guide Our Savior - This guy reminded me of my uncle. So we exit the water taxi and head up the hill on foot. After we crossed the intersection I'm. Like something does not feel right. Well apparently they expected newbies to know that the shortcut is closed during the off season. You gotta take the long way by foot. Excuse Me??? TAXI!!! It was still worth it just to get the ferryboat ride experience, but any future trips over there will be via a 4 wheeler. We hopped a ride to the beach and were delivered right to the water's edge. Well not that close but you get my drift. When we stepped out the taxi it was ALL EYES ON ME! "Who is this balla getting curb side service while the commoners hump it by foot? Actually everyone who got there by foot should thank me. The SHARKS were all fighting to get our business so they made it to the beach haggle free. Our Whip! - Not much but still a better taxi than most. We Have Arrived Sent from my SM-G965U using Forums mobile app

lcookie Posted September 26, 2018 Author #112 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Parasailing - So we are waiting for our loungers to be prepared and I get one of those wild hairs - [emoji189] - The Time Has Come. I look at mama and she already knows. I check in with the local salesman and off we go. So I see the jet skies running to and from the beach about maybe 100 yds away. Cool this'll be a short walk. I'm pumped! I also see the boat waiting just outside the breakers. Now buddy is walking in front of me and he passes the runway without pausing. "HOLD UP SON - WHERE ARE WE GOING?" OK. I see. (head nodding) This is the jet ski path. The boat will come and pick me up at the next path. BUT, dude commences to pass the next pathway too. I know he can feel my [emoji35] burning the back of his neck cause he refuses to look back at me. Now at this point yall should already know that I am vertically challenge yet horizontally blessed. Add these two things together with loose beach sand and flip flops then tell me what do you get? . . . . . Don't be cruel and keep your comments to yourself! [emoji6] Budey is keeping stride. Me - not so much. After a while I see his head disappearing in the horizon. As I near the end my trek across the Sahara Desert I start to see my oasis off in the distance. Could it be. Have I found MECCA? Or is this merely a mirage??? I have seen this too many times in the movies before so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet. Alast I am here and Ol Boy is looking at me like what took you so long. I look back at him like slow the bleep bleep down next time. Heck if I hadn't walked this far I would ask for my money back on principle. But - too late for all that. No way I'm walking all the way back empty handed. lcookie Posted September 26, 2018 Author #117 Share Posted September 26, 2018 New discovery for today (day 4). All this time I am wondering why I can't get any ice with my drinks. Well this morning another cruiser informed us that we can get ice from the freestyle machines. That never dawned on me. I just assumed you had to have the drink package to get one of those medallions that activated the machine. Now we know and so do you. lcookie Posted September 26, 2018 Author #119 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Zip Lining - We are now back onboard and the sports activities start up at 3 pm. I will immediately head up to the zip line station, flash my white band and proceed to get fitted for my harness or so I thought. Well no one I dealt with yesterday was on duty. Here we go again. I'm like can you just check the CCTV from this exact time yesterday to see the hi 5's that were thrown up then. This time was much smoother. Step on step off. See now your thinking how does that magic work right? I can tell you. It was my trip across the Gobi Desert! I strap up, get the 1 min procedure drill, and I'm off. It was fun for what it was. I'd do it again but I'm glad I did not skimp on Samba. It wasn't that great. I do want to experience some real zip lining though. This was just the taste I needed to hold me over. lcookie Posted September 27, 2018 Author #123 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Flow Rider - So have you guessed it yet??? Why yes I am an Adrenaline Junkie - YOLO BABY! I know my limitations but I do like to put myself out there. I am also an early riser. (Check My Timestamps) Now after zip lining I am wide open and ready for more. [emoji189] Hey a lot of people are on the island still "lets do the FlowRider!" By show of hands we have a three-way tie. 1 for (me), 1 no way in @?!' (mama), and 1 maybe later in the cruise aka I don't wanna hurt your feelings but yeah NO and don't ask me again (lil bits) So actually that was 2:1 but I vetoed the vote. Well kinda sort of - I went at it alone. Having never done either I head straight for the stand up surfing line. I've done this in an arcade how much more different can it be? The line is super long so I head over to boogie boarding instead. Much more doable line. There are 10 people in front of me and a rain cloud in the distance. I put on my forecaster's hat and determined it was gonna be very close and I would probably get wet. I can deal with the water, I'm about to get totally soaked. I was moreso concerned about them closing up shop. One of the worst experiences I had as a kid was getting to the front of the Space Mountain line just for them to close the ride in my face due to maintenance. I mean I could literally touch the car. Just as luck would have it they opened the second line so now I am a guarantee to beat the rain. Right as I finished up the session a few rain drops fall on my head and I heard the dreaded zip line is closed message. I'm sure the FlowRider message followed shortly after but we did not hang around to find out. It was fun but tiring. I would definitely do it again.
