Drinking age on RCL sailing out of Puerto Rico?

Stop and think about the answers that you have received. Every single one has been that the drinking age is 21 out of San Juan.

 

There has not even been a single post suggesting otherwise other than you trying to read something into Royals hopelessly outdated website.

 

Had there been any possibility or fact to the drinking age being 18 out of San Juan you would have had tons of posts on here confirming that.

 

Don’t think you are going to board the ship with information from the website and be able to get someone on board to change the policy on the ship. The drinking age is 21 and it will not change.

It is the Only port listed under South America and Caribbean, the drinking policy does not list Caribbean under its rules everything falls either under North America (21) and

/or South America (18). There are NO OTHER ports listed under South America and Caribbean except for San Juan. When you search North America departure ports it is definitely not listed there.

So while I know geographically where PR is, and I am clear on some peoples Opinions on whether Caribbean is assumed North American, then a) why not list San Juan under NA departure ports and b) why include a separate clause of South America in their drinking policy if San Juan is their only departure port out of that classification.

 

Give it up . Regardless of your irrelevant geographic and website issues, the drinking age onboard RCCL for cruises from SJU is 21. Period.

The eDocs from our RC sailings from Europe and South America contain the following and the ones for our San Juan, PR sailings do not as they only contain the statement I posted above.

countries where the legal drinking age is typically lower that 21, a

parent sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who are

between the ages of 18 to 20 may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to

 

20 year-old to consume alcoholic beverages.

· The 18 to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's

policies, including among other things, agreeing not to provide

 

alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age.

 

Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without

 

notice.

This. Certain posters seem to think rules don't apply to them and do whatever they wish.

 

Things like putting a 4yr. old and an 8 yr. old in a NON-connecting cabin by themselves (this from another thread). Methinks he exaggerates for the reaction he hopes to get...maybe an attention-getting ploy???:eek::rolleyes: Well, I guess he did my reaction this time! ;p

The parental waiver is not offered on San Juan sailings.

Sorry to disappoint, but it is true.

 

No kids in our cabin. It was really my wife's idea.

 

Can you believe that they actually made it all the way too 13 & 17?
