When you pre-book the shore excursions do you need to pay the balance at the time of booking? Or do they just show up on your onboard account? Thanks.

No need to prepay. It will be on your account.

If you call, it is billed onboard. If you book through website, you must prepay.

I think that they are two different promos. When I was on the Getaway in July, it was $50 per port, per cabin.

Yes, 2 different promotions. Free At Sea has a promo choice of $50 per cabin Shore Excursion Credit, if the sailing is also a Distinctive Voyage then there is often an additional Shore Excursion Credit, usually $50 per cabin.
