OBC in exchange for making final payment early?

Hello! We have our first Celebrity cruise booked for Spring 2019. I've received a phone call from Celebrity with an offer of $100 OBC if I make my final payment early. The number I was given to call back is 800 556 8209.

 

Has anyone received this type of offer before?

Never heard of it and we're Elite plus with many X cruises.  Did you book with a travel agent?  The phone # is good...when you do a look up it belongs to Celebrity.  Shame on me for paying in full often before final payment date and not knowing there could be a 'reward' for doing so.

There is another thread about this that was posted earlier in the week, so apparently it happens.  We have a May 2019 cruise booked and we have not been offered this.

There has just ben a long string on this topic.  We have never heard of this, but it seems others have had the same experience.  Please check the previous string for others comments.  Enjoy your cruise

Thanks everyone for your help! I'm not on the Celebrity boards often, and I must have not used the right keywords when I searched for this topic. On the tip that this was discussed recently, I went back a few pages on the thread list and was able to find 2 threads:

Anyway, I called the number, and the rep explained this was a promotion they were offering people who had reservations on the Edge next year. Something about wanting to get early confirmation on the number of people who were intending to keep the sailing.
