What’s the likelihood that I’ll be able to do a helicopter/dogsledding your mid-May?

I know this is one of the most canceled excursions. I’ll be in Alaska from 5/9 - 5/19. I’m going to Skagway and Juneau, and they both offer this excursion. I really want to do the tour in Juneau, however, I don’t know if I should plan to do the tour in Skagway and if it does get cancelled, I can possibly try to do it in Juneau. Thoughts?

Who knows. Nobody can predict the weather from now, and it is widely discussed here that weather in Alaska can change almost hourly. Last time we were in Juneau (not in May) the fog was so thick you couldn't even tell we were docked at 7am. We had a copter trip booked...cancelled of course.

More likely in May than August/September.

May - first of August - there is plenty of snow on the glacier. The problems you run into is visibility as the person listed above.

Sometime in August and on, they stop dog mushing due to glacier conditions. Every year is different of course.
