USCcruisecrazy Posted November 27, 2018 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2018 I recommend you go to the Princess site for the Dress Code. What you will get on this site is everyone's interpretation of the dress code or their personal preference. Always better to read it and interpret it for yourself. Good Luck!! PoohUnderstands Posted November 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) Breakfast and Lunch in the MDR is reasonable clothing in that you don't wear a bathing suit into the dining room, but shorts, etc. and coverups are fine. Dinner is casual. I mean usually men will change from jeans/shorts to khaki's, etc. and polo shirt or button down shirt. But when time was short due to a tour, my DH went to dinner with jeans/polo shirt and was fine. Formal night is what you want. From wearing dress long sleeve shirt and nice pants (no tie or jacket) to same with tie, to same with jacket, to full formal attire. Ladies the same in that I have seen nice pants suits, "Sunday" dresses, to full long dresses, etc. Unfortunately there are not comedy shows every night. On a 7 day cruise, maybe once or twice. Then there are production shows, singers, comedy/singing, type of shows too. What ship and itinerary are you doing? Every evening, no, watch the Princess patter for times and venues. Dress is a touchy subject. Official dress is listed in the FAQ's. Daytime - casual Evening MDR's, smart casual defined pretty accurately in the Princess FAQ's. At Princess.com search Contact Us, FAQ's, Clothing Recommendations. Evening formal MDR's. Not many in tux. Most men with jacket and tie, some jacket no tie, some no jacket and no tie. Women in nice clothing. Specialty restaurants, smart casual every night. Other locations around the ship, casual every night

The "Dress Code" requirements have softened over the years. When we first started cruising, men would wear TUXES and ladies would wear GOWNS. We just got off the STAR Princess last month, and although there were some dress that nice, not as many as years ago. For FORMAL nights: Men, including myself wear Suits/Ties OR slacks and nice sports shirts (short or long) with a sports coat. Women; dresses, pants suits, pants/dress blouses, etc Casual nights: Men; casual pants, casual shirts (short/long). NO Shorts or TSHIRTS Women; slacks, blouses, etc Although shorts are not allowed, I did see a few in the Main dining room during Casual nights. As mentioned, dress code has been relaxed! Cancruizer Posted November 28, 2018 #10 Share Posted November 28, 2018 Hi, as others have said on this thread, we've noticed a definite less dressy trend over the years. Formal night many ladies wear cocktail dresses and some gowns, some less dressy too. Men in anything from dress pants and dress shirt to suit. Casual and smart casual nights sundresses and capris ect. for ladies and pants and a polo for men, even nice jeans are worn on casual nights. Likely you'll 2 comedy shows during a 7 day cruise. Enjoy!
