Getting around in Sydney

Greetings,

 

We will have a day on our own while in Sydney. What's the easiest way to get from the White Bay terminal to the area around the Opera House? Once there, the ferries look to be an easy way to get around. Any recommendations for day trips?

A transit pass (Opal) includes the buses. trams, and ferries. We spent 5 days there and used a pass to get all over. They run a special night time ferry that goes all around the harbor to allow you to see the sights and lights. You can also take the ferry to Manly, the zoo, etc.

The Capt Cook ferry takes you to either Darling Harbour or Circular Quay. We noted numerous taxis both times at White Bay, but do not believe it is on a bus route. It is about 4 miles by road to Circular Quay.
