Roja123 Posted December 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2018 We have an upcoming cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. Can someone let me know if they still punch holes on the seapass on Oasis ? Also , what time does the terminal open at Port Canaveral and when would they start taking our luggage from us ? Thanks.

matj2000 Posted December 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2018 The people who check in you and give your card can now punch holes in cards. Cards are not in the cabin...

Oasis may be doing the same. Going on EN next Friday so checked the website to see if my Setsail Pass had changed, It has - to the latest format. So looks like PC sailings might have gone to the updated system for boarding procedures. . When accessing my reservation this appeared at the top of the page: "These guests are checked in Be sure everyone has a printed or digital SetSail Pass." I then opened my RCI App and sure enough there were digital Set Sail Passes for DW and me. Edited December 14, 2018 by Scotty G update
DeputyDawg46 Posted December 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 14, 2018 On my recent cruises I have found that if the boarding pass is such that you can slide it across the digital reader they will not punch holes in it. It has data stored in it that can be damaged. The boarding passes that I can put in a slot at my door are still being punched. This seams to be the trend for me and I always try to get them punched. But I carry a plastic holder just in case.
Ken at the beach Posted December 14, 2018 #11 Share Posted December 14, 2018 The only ships currently using the RFID technology are Quantum class Harmony and Symphony. On all other ships you can get holes punched in your seapass card.

I saw another lady who had brought her own hole punch!

Mine opened the cabin door fine, but it would not register for the muster scan. I got a new one at GS

You may have just nicked the antenna so that the door reader could get it to work but a lower powered portable reader could not.

This is new since last month when we were on EN. The new SetSail Pass looks like an enlarged Sea Pass and only takes up half a page. Agree as with RCI it is "sometimes, always or never".
