Rare babs135 Posted January 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2019 Is October too early?
BillB48 Posted January 12, 2019 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2019 October is still within the Rainy Season, that doesn't mean the day will be a complete washout... there just is a better chance you may encounter a shower or two during the day. Usually the rain is brief and perhaps some cloudiness. Weather wise, right now in the middle of January is one of the best times to go as it is just the beginning of the Dry Season. IMO go when it is most convenient for you and just use the "best" time to go as a tie breaker.
Heidi13 Posted January 13, 2019 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2019 Many years ago we did full transits every 2 weeks during Oct/Nov. Yes, it rains more than Spring, but it is still impressive.
cb at sea Posted February 13, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2019 It's SUMMER all year round there. Doesn't really matter when you go. It's HOT and HUMID all year round.
shofer Posted March 6, 2019 #5 Share Posted March 6, 2019 We did a partial transit in Feb-2007 and it was hot in Panama. Considering a full transit this year in November.

The temperatures will be similar in November, the only real difference is there will be a little higher chance of some of that liquid sunshine. I would not let that deter me from going at that time. We did a westbound full transit in November 2012...no rain until we were northbound on the Pacific side...even then it was more showers than all day rain.
