Is There Train Service?

The train between Toronto and Montreal, depending on which service you take, is roughly 5 hours. YTZ is indeed a very convenient airport for downtown TO (and I've heard good things about Porter), but you'll still land at YUL, which is quite a ways from downtown Montreal. So time-wise it's probably not much different. And searching a random date for next September (when I assume the OP is travelling), the train can be booked for as little as $40. A flight on Porter would cost $160.

 

And both train stations are really in the heart of downtown, convenient to many hotels - plan it right, and you don't even need a taxi at either end, you could stay just a short walk from either station.
