Suspicious Email From Carnival

This morning, I received an email from DONOTREPLY@CARNIVAL.COM - Itinerary Change. The email was marked high priority, had a PDF file attached but otherwise no content. I deleted it. I then went on to Carnival website and confirmed there was no itinerary change to any of my bookings. So please beware.

The PDF was (probably) a letter explaining that you future sailing is being moved early by 30 min, from a 4pm sailing to 3:30pm.  So if you were planning on showing up right before boarding cut-off time, you may want to move that up a bit.

I've received the same type e-mail in the past (no email content, just a PDF attachment) and it was just as ProgRockCruiser stated - an itinerary time change.

I got one just a few weeks ago regarding my November cruise on the Glory from NOLA. It was from that address and just as you stated, nothing other than the email attachment. It was legit, we now sail at 3:30 instead of 4.

Phew! That's a relief. For a moment, I was puzzled and somewhat worried how someone (other than Carnival) was able to associate my personal email address with Carnival. Always learn something new on CC. Thank you.

You are right to be concerned. Carnival should not send such notices as an attachment. This began when Carnival closed their IT department in Miami and shipped the jobs overseas.

Yep, what they said.  I got it too, was wary, and so I forwarded it to my super-techy-IT DH and asked if it was safe to open the PDF.  He looked at it, told me it was legit and safe.  So I opened it to find the letter PPs have mentioned: they will be "starting my fun just a bit earlier" - sailing at 3:30 instead of 4:00.  It did look suspicious, though.

I got a similar email this morning for a cruise we have booked on Conquest in Summer 2020.

I got one today too! For our May sailing on the Conquest. I couldn’t even remember what time our original sailing was for, but, assume at 4pm. It’s now at 3:30pm.

We also got one for our Bermuda cruise in September on the Sunshine changing from 6pm to 4pm departure out of Charleston.  Strange way to send an update but did confirm it on my booking details where it had already been updated.

that’s sort of hilarious that they handle notifying passengers of schedule changes like that.   Epic fail!!!

That’s a legitimate email. I have received two emails just like it before. And they were both 100% real.

Here is the last email we received, and also the letter that was attached. You definitely have an itinerary change. It might not be reflected online right away, but there is a change to your sailing.
