Casino - may be stupid questions, but...

It most definitely is true! All you need to do is go to guest services and have them load your gift card(s) on to your Sail and Sign account. When you go to the casino, you can then play the slot machine using your S and S account. That is one of the options you have when you play the machines once you have your players bank set up. If you don't know how to do that, one of the casino hosts will help you. After you're done playing, you can either leave the money in your players bank or go to the casino cashier and cash out. Some posters say you can use the kiosks to download your gift cards to your s and s card, but it's easier for me to go to guest services.

Bostwick Girl - I know that part is true...that is how I usually do it, what I was questioning was someone saying that they could just go to the cage and exchange the cards for cash.

Gotcha! I've never seen that done either. I'd almost guarantee you can't cash out a gift card at the casino cashier!

I didn't think you could exchange GCs for cash at the cashier either but multiple people on here have said they did it.  Who knows, could vary by ship or there could be limits on the number of GCs and/or a dollar amount limit.  Try it with limited expectations and if it doesn't work simply bring the GCs over to GS. 🙂

If the BlackJack players won't have you; come visit us at the Craps table.  We love new shooters, they always seem to have a long roll and make us some bank, and the game is not as intimidating as it looks.

We are more fun when someone is winning anyway, because generally if one person is winning we are all winning...unless that one person is playing the dark side, but they tend to be very quite when they are win.

I have gambled both in Vegas and on cruise ships.  I will say that it can get a tad annoying when you do see a newbie bet without knowing typical BJ strategy, especially when you see their decision directly effect the dealer busting or not.  That being said, I was a newbie once and I got some advice from helpful players, which I try to pass along.  In the instances where the person is still recklessly betting and causing losses, I just pick up and move tables.  On cruise ships they are just trying to have fun so I do have more patience there than in Vegas lol.

You really shouldn't be playing any casino table game without trying learning it first.  Craps is one of my favorite ones, but learning it is difficult.  Some casinos offer lessons at the slow times like morning.  That is your best bet to learn.  However, I have helped many a new person learn craps at the table.  Their bets do not directly affect your winning...only how they roll.

A polite request - if you don't know how to play Blackjack please stay away from the tables as those of us who know how to play well don't appreciate those who don't know the rules of game. You may get lucky and win once when staying on something less than 17 against the dealer's 10, but it won't last and it screws it up for the rest of the players. We just returned from a Holland America cruise where a "newbie" had a 10 and a 4 and tried to split them! The dealer said no for a good reason. You could try Caribbean Stud Poker where it's just you playing against the dealer or you might like Roulette. Craps is not for people who don't know the many nuances and bets of the game. You might be better off just playing slots where you put your money in an go. Even with slots, play the maximum lines and then select how many times the minimum bet you want. I've seen people play 1 line out of 20 and then wonder why they don't win anything.

No worries seeing me at the Blackjack tables. Not my game even though I know how to play. I am all about Roulette since I always win playing it.

How about you walk away for a little while if you think you are all that....I've had some nasty players try and get verbal with me, doesn't end well.

Sorry, but this is 100% incorrect, and it's people with an attitude like this that ruin a good time at a table. Mathematically, over time, a "bad" player's decisions will help you just as many times as they will hurt you.

To sum up, they did a computer simulation of 1.05 BILLION hands of blackjack, and proved mathematically that the myth of a new/"bad" player "screwing it up for the rest of the players" is just that - A MYTH.

I hate when people say this. How exactly do you know this "screws it up", It's just like any other game. Regardless if "they took your card", sometimes it will work in your favor, and sometimes it won't.

These people generally think they are part MIT math geniuses and part physic. :classic_rolleyes:

First let me say I HATE BJ and will never play because of this attitude.  Gamblers who are smart and know the game do have an advantage of course, BUT these games are games of chance.  A newbies mistake can cause the next player to win or lose - but it's a chance, not an absolute outcome.  It really ticks me off when I hear of the attitudes of some people.  Geeesh . . .

This post is exactly right. "pros" complain when a noob took their WINNING  card, but do they complain when the noob took what would have been their LOSING card or when the card they got after the bad noob play was a winner ? These people believe in unicorns and check their horoscope every morning.

The math doesn't support your theory that the actions of others at the table affect your overall outcome.

I have a simple line for any fellow players at the table who try to tell me how to play my hands:

"You cover my losses and I will play them however you want"

Of course they don't ever agree to that 🙂
