Secret Harbor or Emerald

Trying to decide between Secret Harbor and Emerald beach for our upcoming cruise. Been to Sapphire and enjoyed it, but looking to try another beach this time. Any suggestions appreciated.

There's a new attraction, St Thomas Cycle Boats, that has limited capacity and looks like it is fun for all ages.

You can also rent pedal boats at Magens to get out on the water away from the crowds.

 

The new pirate museum across from Havensight is another good family friendly option.

I prefer the East End beaches, so I would say Secret Harbor.   Emerald is closer, if you are docking at Crown Bay, but if not, I would definitely go with Secret Harbor.  You can't go wrong with either one.

When we were there 3 years back we did Smith and sapphire. 2 weeks ago we were here again and went with our group to Secret harbor. I was not impressed. Sand was rockier and more course, beach shoreline very small. Water not as blue and clear as other 2 we went to. Paid $11 for a margarita in a small cup even though menu said $10. Chairs were either 15 or 20. Just totally wasn't a fan of this place but some who were with us liked it (mainly because bar was right there).

Are lounges/umbrella important? Or just restrooms and food & drink for a less busy beach option?

Mostly Restrooms.....Anything else is a plus.

We would grab a lunch and drinks and head to Lindqvist (Smith Bay Park), restrooms there but there's an entry fee. But arguably the nicest STT beach, and some room to get a nice spot to lay on your towel...

Secret Harbour is good for snorkeling because it is rocky but it is a very small and gets super crowded just like Magens does near the bar.  Lindbergh is a little quieter and closer too and much bigger.  They also have jet pak trips, kayaks, jet skis and other stuff just down the beach.
