Cuthbertz Posted February 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2019 Hi, We apologise if this has been asked before but we cannot find much information. We are travelling on britannia in 7 weeks and have booked the lowest grade obstructed view guarantee balcony cabin on select fare. Has anyone any experience of doing this, when could we expect the cabin to be allocated and the likelihood of an upgrade. Many thanks for your help. Dorset cruise fan Posted February 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2019 We booked a select fare guarantee cabin on an Oceana cruise in 2017. Like you it was the lowest grade of its type and we got an upgrade to the same type but higher grade/better position on ship. We were very pleased with our cabin but I have no idea how common this is, I guess its different for each cruise.
Cuthbertz Posted February 16, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted February 16, 2019 Thank you for your replies, not long now but I guess we will just have to be patient and hope the upgrade fairy visits. 😀
john watson Posted February 16, 2019 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2019 (edited) Guarantee cabins when allocated will appear as a cabin number on your cruise personaliser. Probably just says something like GUAR until that time. Assuming you are allocated an "Obstructed Balcony" that is Deck 8 "G" Deck you can check the view on the link below for Royal/Regal two sisters. The obstructions are more looking down a bit as opposed to level in most cases. Any G cabin number on Britannia is same as the E cabin number on Royal/Regal, just scroll down the link page to obtain the equivalent view.
