Rare KmomChicago Posted March 31, 2019 #126 Share Posted March 31, 2019 He'll be back. This is not his first boat ride. Probably overwhelmed with finishing up grades for the quarter or other life requirements.
cruisinfromtampa Posted April 1, 2019 Author #127 Share Posted April 1, 2019 Hello everyone. I’m sorry for falling of the planet for a week. I had originally planned on wrapping everything up during the ride home, but I ended up driving the whole way. Then reality hit, and getting back to work was a rough time for us both for various reasons. On top of it all, we both came back and were sick by Tuesday. Today was the last day of my meds, but I’m still not back to normal. I will post the last two sea days, plus departure and final thoughts tonight. I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for hanging in there with me! Lots more to say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3

Dred pilot Roberts Posted April 2, 2019 #131 Share Posted April 2, 2019 I was On this cruise and had a great time also. But I have a few notes. Hooked, had a horrible meal, it was bad to the point that I talked to Dudley about it in the diamond lounge and with in 5 minutes he had the manager down to talk to me about my experience. Jamies was every bit as good as yours. The new menu is a winner I can’t wait for it to be rolled out fleet wide. Water slides, my kids loved them but the riptide is VERY fast if you touch the tube during the slide you will get burned, wear a rash guard. cruisinfromtampa Posted April 3, 2019 Author #132 Share Posted April 3, 2019 Ok. Here we go. Day 8. The laziest day of the cruise! Well, kind of. Woke up late and had breakfast, followed by watercolor class again. I must say...as a classically trainer musician, visual art is fun, but boy is it difficult to be happy. Today’s painting was a toucan. This made me think about fruit loops, which led to thinking about breakfast. Thankfully, it was noon and time for $2 mimosas in the casino bar. Can you tell we’re creatures of habit? My favorite moment of the day came courtesy of the bar tender. He handed me my mimosas when I had things in my hands. Stupidly, I attempted to accept them both with one hand. Of course, one of them fell to the floor, drenching me in the process. Displeased was an understatement. Thankfully, 6 mimosas in, it didn’t matter. After mimosas, a quick lunch then we got ready for the Escape Room! It was an absolute blast! Our 6 joined 6 more and got out! Actually, we restarted time, but we won! And, according to the host, we had the fastest time on our sailing, and fastest by anyone other than the contractors during dry dock. After the escape room came a nap, then dinner. It was lobster night. Food was great. In celebration of their 50th anniversary, Royal is giving our birthday cakes. A little sweet, but decent flavor. And cute as a button. Our last stop of the night was the Headliner Show, The Las Vegas Diva of the Seas. If you’ve never seen Stephani Parker, she’s incredible. An absolute must. Her show is a tribute to Whitney Houston, but done in her own way. Her talent is beyond measure. After the show, bed. cruisinfromtampa Posted April 3, 2019 Author #135 Share Posted April 3, 2019 I forgot! Before the show, we walked out to the helipad. For the first time I can think of, I watched the moon rise over the horizon. It was stunning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cruisinfromtampa Posted April 3, 2019 Author #136 Share Posted April 3, 2019 Day 9: At SeaIt finally arrived...our last full day on the ship. We felt like we went to bed on the second night and woke up on Day 8. This cruise flew by. After breakfast, most of the group went to the last watercolor class. More people showed than there were supplies, so I gave up my seat. I went and sat in the Diamond Club. It was great. A nice quiet hour to myself. At noon, back to the casino for $2 mimosas and a little slot play. I think I’ve decided that Wheel of Fortune is my machine of choice. The fact that it was good to me this cruise helps. From mimosas, Izumi for lunch! The restaurant looks great. The colors are vibrant and inviting. And the view can’t be beat!Firecracker Shrimp. My constant. Always good. Gyoza. They were meh. Not a ton of flavor, and watery. After one bite, they fell apart. The dipping sauce was excessively salty. Wouldn’t order them again. Rainbow Roll. The fish was fresh. My friend enjoyed it. Salmon Lover Roll. She enjoyed it. I didn’t try it. Raw salmon doesn’t sit well with me. Futomaki. My favorite. Always delicious. I get it without the seaweed salad. Just not a fan of it in there. Spicy Pork Ramen. They weren’t kidding about spicy. It’s a great heat, but be prepared for it. I was sweating by the end. Overall, we had a great time at lunch. The food was delicious. Probably the best Izumi meal we’ve had on the various ships. After lunch, a nice nap that lasted until dinner. If we do one thing well on cruises, it’s nap. After dinner, we skipped the show and packed. We self assist off, so we turned in early. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
