matamanoa Posted March 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Does anyone know if Princess allows a self walk off with luggage in San Francisco?
FTBLCOACH Posted March 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Yep, we do it all the time. Since U.S. Customs has stopped the need for the old customs declaration form it's a breeze after you're off the ship. Walk offs are the first to leave so you can get off as early as 0730. Thrak Posted March 18, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2019 As long as you don't have so much luggage that you can't handle it by yourself without hindering other people...
tillys mom Posted March 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2019 We did it last year and all went smoothly until we had to stand in line in the rain to get a taxi. Lesson learned: keep an umbrella where you can get to it.

How does this work now? When we last did an Alaska cruise in/out of SF in 2010 we had to fill out the paper declaration form. But there was nobody at the port to collect them. We couldn't figure out where to put them, so we never turned them in. Is that how things are now as well? Or do you not get the paper form anymore either? Tedferg Posted March 18, 2019 #8 Share Posted March 18, 2019 We did it once, very easy. We had parked at 55 Francisco, short walk. So DW stayed with Luggage and I walked over and got the car, then returned to pick her up. Note: DW waited on Embarcadero sidewalk not in Taxi / Coach area - the latter is congested with departures and new arrivals.
FTBLCOACH Posted March 18, 2019 #9 Share Posted March 18, 2019 Dani 24...you don't even get the paper form any more. Just show your passport to the customs officer and you're done. Very quick process now.
