Oasis of the Seas cabins Grand Suite two bedroom12638 and 12648

When I sailed on these in 2015, they were Royal Family Suites. Now they are 2 bedroom grand suites. We had both for 6 people and it was truly amazing. There is no price you can put on having a hot tub on your balcony. Never mind two. I receive so many emails asking for pictures, that it is just easier to post them here. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help.

We had 12648 this past January on Oasis, and it is a great cabin. Yes, there are two bathrooms; one just right of the entrance, opposite the smaller bedroom. It is a full bathroom with a stand-up shower. The master bedroom has two entries with doors, and the master bath has a bathtub/shower combo; IMO, the master bathroom is very similar to the Oasis-class JS. The two cabins are essentially mirrored opposites; the main difference is the balcony. 12648 has the hot tub on the far right end of the balcony; 12638 is a little more toward the center. Due to this configuration, I believe 12638 has balcony access from the main room and the master bedroom, whereas 12648 only has access from the main room. Someone may correct me, but I believe that's about the extent of the differences between the two rooms. We sat four comfortably in the hot tub; it may get a little snug with more than that.

I read that these rooms were changed in the recent amplification and have not been able to get clarification as to what changed and if the hot tub on the balcony will remain. We have 12648 booked on an upcoming cruise (and this was a big reason for choosing this room). Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We were on the Allure in an OS just above these cabins when they were still the RFS.  I was trying to figure out where they took the square footage from as the RFS is about the same size as our OS.  One day I yelled below to the people in the RFS and we swapped cabin tours. 

 

Personally, I liked the OS better as the RFS took a huge chunk out of the dinning area for the second bedroom and made the living area feel small.  Of course it was only the DW and I so we didn't need to sleep eight.  I'm not sure of the cost but if it were me I would get an OS with a connecting cabin.  I can do without the hot tub on my deck.

The RFS and the 2 bedroom GS are the same cabin, same space just a different name.

We just cruised in 12648 and returned home yesterday.

 

Room was as we looked online and we can confirm the hot tub is still on the balcony,

Hi! You mentioned 6 in each room..where did they sleep? The max they would let us book was 4 for 2022 and was told the couch is NOT a pull out. SO 2 IN MASTR, 2 in 2nd bedroom. How did you do it?

We had 6 people total in both rooms. Three in each. Four adults and two kids total, two adults and one kid in each room. Each kid had the interior bedroom and their own bathroom. It is strange that the interior bedrooms don’t have Pullman beds, as you have in other 2 bedroom suites. I would say it’s definitely a splurge for 4 people, but the extra bathroom and the hot tub on the balcony are so worth it.

We had to ask for a table and chairs to be delivered. Which they immediately took care of.

Hence my question.  I'm thinking of this suite as a "retirement extravaganza" cruise in 2 years.  I'll be travelling with my mentally disabled older brother, who feels like he needs to "check" on me two or three times a night.  Don't get me wrong - I appreciate his concern, but privacy and lack of sleep becomes an issue.

 

How do we handle it now?  I book two cabins next to one another - and if they're balcony cabins, I ask them to open the partition.  Of course, I could always book two junior suites, but then we'd lose the other amenities...

How did you find the wear and tear on the suite? We are going in January 2022 and it is not cheap. I don't mind spending the money but won't be impressed if it looks run down. Did you use the Suite lounge or sundeck?

It was not run down at all. It was beautiful. It had been the Presidential before it was split in two, so it had marble entryways, etc. It was definitely an upgraded cabin experience over a normal RFS and even an aqua theater 2 bedroom. They have been my favorite rooms to date. However, I did stay in them a couple of years ago and the ship is being amped before your sailing and I’m not sure what changes will be made then. Yes, I used the suite sun deck and the suite lounge. Although, in my opinion the sun deck is useless without a pool. Suite lounge is very nice and Coastal Kitchen is wonderful. Definitely better than the MDR. I got a steal on those cabins, I think I paid $12k for both for 6 people, so for me, it was worth it.

Oasis was amplified in 2019 it won't be done again when I sail in 2022. So what you had in 2019 is what I will have.. the 2BDR grand on 12th floor are definitely nicer than the ones on 10&9.
