What's it like with only one ship in port?

We will be in Grand Turk on August 1 on Carnival Breeze and we will be the only ship in port. Trying to decide whether we should book an excursion, walk down to Jack's Shack, or just hang out at Margaritaville. How crowded (or not crowded) will the pool/beach be with only one ship?

Just got back from Grand Turk last week. We were the only ship in port (Carnival Sunshine). The beach area around Margaritaville was crowded but we walked down to Jack’s Shack and it was much less crowded and the water was clearer (more blue, less seaweed etc).

This past January we too were the only ship in port.  We did a shore excursion that was driving a small electric hummer around the island with a guide.  It was awesome and the guides were great.  I would like to have my own personal one to zip around town.

Two years ago we did horseback riding around the island and then into the ocean too.  It was a blast.

Well you are really lucky first of all. Few times we were in Grand Turk we were three ships and the beaches were packed. Still, with only one ship being docked, the beach can be pretty busy too. But we have always walked down to Jack's Shack and there are always sun chairs available ($10 each with umbrella, depends on the vendors mood that day). That area is always less busy, and we love it.
