Crism Posted April 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted April 3, 2019 We've got the opportunity to snag a killer deal on one of the new Australia sailings. We're from the USA and have done tons of Caribbean and a few Transatlantic cruises but never anything down under. The one we're looking at is on Voyager from Sydney and visits Noumea, Mystery Island, Port Vila, Suva, and Lautoka, all places we aren't familiar with. Normally on our Caribbean cruises we choose inside cabins for the price. Is it worth getting a balcony for this cruise? How is the scenery while docked and cruising between ports? jasper15 Posted April 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted April 3, 2019 We've cruised South Pacific and Caribbean both a couple of times. Without hesitation I would say the scenery in the Caribbean is way better than South Pacific (having said that we haven't been to Suva and Lautoka). Mystery Island is tiny, you will see all you need to see from the pool deck. Noumea is like entering a small commercial port. Not much to see there. Sydney is by far the most spectacular!! But you can see everything if you are up on the deck for the sail away party.
megsie Posted April 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2019 We have cruised balcony, deck 12 oceanview suite and inside virtual balcony to the south sea islands. Apart from the space and enjoyment of the deck 12 oceanview, we thought the inside virtual balcony was fine.
Rare ReneeFLL Posted April 4, 2019 #4 Share Posted April 4, 2019 We did a TP cruise the last 2 years. We prefer to have a balcony for several reasons, but one is because I don't want to get up early, get dressed and have to go up on the deck for the views. SakeDad Posted April 4, 2019 #6 Share Posted April 4, 2019 Balcony by far as you will not get to appeciate the COLORS of the waters there on a vitual balcony...just not the same. And it is so much more vibrant than the Caribbean.

Get a balcony on the left side of the ship.when you open your balcony door for the first and last time you will see the Sydney opera house. That alone is worth the money. voyeger is getting a big make over this September.
