Gettys84 Posted April 9, 2019 Author #127 Share Posted April 9, 2019 Just sent an email to cruise critic to see if they can help get my pictures to upload. Very frustrating. And admins able to help?
CChamp Posted April 10, 2019 #128 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Don't know if it has to do with the uploading picture problem but a couple of hours ago both my wife's computer and mine kept coming up with a 502 Bad Gateway error every time we tried to get on CC. Seems to be OK now.
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #129 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Nope. Still no picture upload. I will get my laptop out tomorrow. Love and marriage show was one of the best we have seen. Was very very funny. Will try and catch up tomorrow.

Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #132 Share Posted April 10, 2019 We are still at sea this morning. Balcony was very wet so may have had bad seas or a storm last night. Still can not get pictures to upload. It is super frustrating. Have tried switching to Chrome and still did nothing. Going to get my laptop out and try one more time. If that doesn’t work will do updates and then a proper picture review once we get back home.

Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #135 Share Posted April 10, 2019 BACK IN BUSINESS!!!!! Had a random thought that I have seen “posted from Taptalk”. So I went to the App Store and downloaded the app. Well then I had no idea what my password was for cruise critic....well the dreaded “forgot password button”. Well took about 7 tries and they finally sent the reset passport link....not so fast my friend...”your password reset link has expired”. Are you kidding me? Ok. One more time going through the website and doing the steps to reset password. And finally works. So I will be posting the pictures from yesterday and getting everyone back up to date. Hope this makes your guys Hump Day go by much faster! (Did someone say Mike Mike Mike?) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #136 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Pictures above were from La Romana yesterday. The house across from the port had a helicopter pad. While we were sitting on our balcony a helicopter flew over the ship and landed. Was very cool. On the other side of ship you can see a lot of baseball fields. The entire time we were in port players were practicing. Hopes and dreams of getting the the MLB!Have a video of the helicopter landing but tapatalk will not let me upload videos. Just pictures. But that’s ok. I’ll take pictures over nothing! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #138 Share Posted April 10, 2019 After sitting on our balcony for most of the morning in the shade we decided we had not eaten in about 3 hours so it must be time for lunch. We ate at the buffet for breakfast about 9:30. We were going to go to ocean plaza and get food there and get a picture for the review but it was already packed up. My wife loves the chocolate muffins that are on the old brunch menu on all the other ships. We found in the@parodeejay review that they had similar on deck 5 in the morning. Needless to say she was bummed that they were packed up. We headed up to lido and all they had were some type of muffin that was NOT the good chocolate ones. After taking a lap to see if maybe they were somewhere else she decided on some cereal. I headed back to get some French toast and bacon....I walk by the muffin area and I spot them! Three chocolate muffins now mixed in with the not so chocolate muffins. I am sure that I cut in front of at least 2 people (I’m so sorry but I had to get them, I never do that) I grabbed two of the three because I felt so bad cutting in front of someone. Figured let them at least have one. Needless to say, I saved the day and no Cheerios were eaten for breakfast yesterday morning. Ok back to lunch after the muffin incident of 2019We headed back to the pasta bar because why not!! I have attached the pictures. The line was a little longer yesterday. I think the word is getting out about pasta bar for lunch. Not sure if we will go there today or not. Have not decided but getting close to time to make that decision! Service was better than the past two times we had gone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #139 Share Posted April 10, 2019 After the pasta bar we decided we needed some dessert. (I am so proud of one of our cruising buddies. She was eating cake while in line for gelato...now that’s how you dessert). The fancy looking lido cakes are a big step up from the old desserts. They do look better than they actually are but they are still good! And don’t worry, the captain got his German Chocolate yesterday...that’s the only one they have every day. I still think it must be his favorite. The gelato station had salted caramel and passion fruit. I tried the salted caramel with colored sprinkles of course. What responsible adult doesn’t like colored sprinkles? They also were making Cotton candy next to the gelato station. Didn’t have any but it looked good!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #140 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Also at lunchtime, there was an area next to the gelato station that had buffalo mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. My wife loves caprese salads so she was pretty excited about this area where you can make your own. There was also a cheese spread and salami you can put on pita bread or make whatever kind of combination you want!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #141 Share Posted April 10, 2019 On the way back to our our balcony to sit off lunch and two desserts we stopped by to get pictures of the Bonsai menus. They have a sushi restaurant that is extra as you can see in the menu. And they have the Miyabis/Kobe type of place where they cook in front of you. This is $32 plus 18 percent tip. You have to make a reservation. The hostess lady was trying hard to get us to make a reservation but we did not. Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #142 Share Posted April 10, 2019 I’m not as into the shows as my wife is so I got her opinion of Soul Bound the Playlist Production. She really enjoyed it! I have to admit, the interactive video screen was pretty cool. It was very well produced and the singers/dancers did a great job. It was a nice change from the same shows they do over and over on the other ships. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #143 Share Posted April 10, 2019 At 2pm they opened the skyride. We went up about 1:45 to get in line and no one was up there. We let our cruising buddies go first once it opened. They had a blast. Once we both took a turn my wife and her mom wanted to do it again. They stood in line maybe 10 minutes until it was their turn again. I got a great video of them almost the entire way. I will upload all the videos once we get back home! The skyride is really fun. We were talking to one of the crew members that works that area. He said sometimes there is no line at all. So just keep checking. He also said that on the last day EVERYONE wants to ride it and gets mad that the line is so long. So do it towards the beginning of the cruise! O and stopped for ice cream after. Because why not!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dstein12 Posted April 10, 2019 #144 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Can I ask what’s your cabin number? I ask because it appears you can look at the ship pulling in and pulling out from your balcony. I really want a cabin that I can sit outside and watch us pull in to and out of port. Thank you
Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #145 Share Posted April 10, 2019 About 5:30 we headed up to get dinner. Have to say, we are not missing going to the dining room every night. Not saying we will never go back and will always eat dinner on lido but it has been a nice change. I got a guys burger before they closed at 6pm. My wife got another grilled cheese and fries from the deli. She really likes them. After dinner we went back down to our cabin and watched the sunset on our balcony. It looked awesome. I also took a time-lapse video of the sun setting. Now that video is cool! Guess you guys will just have to keep reading even after our cruise is over for more stuff!! Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #146 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Will work on the evening activities a little later. We are about to head down to deck 5 to get some guys bbq. (We have a traeger grill at home...it’s not the same but we sure as heck don’t have an ocean going by while we eat)So glad I got pictures working again! Only bad thing is I can’t do videos. Maybe I will make a YouTube channel tonight and upload videos and link to them! Also coming into Curaçao now! Gettys84 Posted April 10, 2019 Author #148 Share Posted April 10, 2019 Guys Pig & Anchor is a little different on the Horizon vs the Magic that we were on last year. On the Magic, there is the Red Frog pub that has indoor/outdoor seating, shuffleboard, foosball, and a couple bar games to play at your table while hanging out. On the Horizon, the Pig & Anchor replaces the Red Frog Pub and has all seating area with bars and TVs. It’s not bad but has kept us from coming here more because it doesn’t have the fun games like the Magic had. Instead we have been up on the sports deck playing foosball and the awesome soccer billiards. (Please note, the Red Frog pub I refer to is different from the Red Frog bars on the Lido deck. Those are still there on the Horizon.)Guys BBQ is located on deck 5 port side and open from 12-2 sea days and some port days. Just check your fun times to see if it’s open! They have seating all over deck 5 to eat. At night it becomes a pay restaurant. We have not tried it as we have not ever paid for a meal on a cruise....yet. Something tells me the Mardi Gras is going to change that with all the new stuff they are adding that will be additional charge. They brew beer on board and you can see the brewing containers (I’m sure there’s an actual name for this) when you walk through the Pig & Anchor. I have read about the tours but have not see anything posted about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank youWe are in 6229 on the starboard side of the ship! In September we are on lido deck about 5/6 cabins back from the bridge. Hope it doesn’t block our coward view too much.
