Rare mom says Posted May 20, 2019 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2019 The cabins have both North American (110 volt), and European 2 pin (220volt) outlets. Power bars aren't allowed anymore. However there are multi outlet blocks ( NOT surge protected)that you can buy that can service 3-4 items at once, and others with multiple USB ports. Underwatr Posted May 20, 2019 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2019 Most electronic items you're likely to bring onboard will work properly on 110 volts or 220 volts, if you have an appropriate plug adapter. A power adapter shouldn't be necessary.

A power adapter shouldn't be necessary. Most but not all. Most rechargeable devices like a phone, laptop, tablet will accommodate dual voltage. An exception is a Braun electric toothbrush. Their charges are one voltage only. Be cautious about plug-in devices such as hair dryers, curling irons, shavers, etc. Unless they have a dual voltage switch in the correct position or are using a power adapter you may be rewarded with a snap, crackle and pop if a 110 volt device is plugged into a 220. You will then have to find alternative means to dry/curl your hair and shave. Edited May 20, 2019 by K32682
denmarks Posted May 20, 2019 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2019 Make sure any cord does not have a surge protector. They are not compatible with the wiring on a cruise ship. Circuit breakers are OK. There are many on Amazon that indicate they can be used on a ship.
SRF Posted May 20, 2019 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2019 Royal Carib bans ALL extension cords/power strips now. It seems they got tired of checking and arguing about surge suppression.
