Wendy The Wanderer Posted June 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2019 That's interesting. My s-i-l is from there, and I was thinking of asking her for good places to shop, since this particular city is not particularly known for tourism. But I'll look at this tour as well, thank you. tedandandy Posted June 11, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted June 11, 2019 I did check Unique Java out and some of the tours looked interesting, but have decided to book with Tours By Locals, Heritage Tour, so will see how that goes.

They have great Indonesian patterns. I could use a blouse as well.

I'll be seeing them this summer, although it can wait, ha ha. In fact we saw really amazing shirts from Indonesia at a shop in our winter home, Dunedin FL. I wanted to buy one so badly, but they were $75, and I kept thinking...just wait a couple of years...!!
Omega1 Posted June 13, 2019 #8 Share Posted June 13, 2019 Out guide took us to a store in Surabaya as my wife wanted to buy some lengths of batik material. The store was huge with a wide range of batik clothing with countless designs - all very reasonably priced. I don’t know the name of the store but I’m sure any local guide would know it.
