Taxes and fees changing?

We also got an email - our taxes and fees are still $286 for the 5 night Mayan Sol in Sept. No change from the original booking that I could see. Maybe there was a change in the fine print (legal stuff)?

Hi iam a little confused what are taxes and fees as we are joining a carnival ship in San Juan in march 2020 and have booked our holiday with Virgin  thanks in advance
