We have a large group of 16 that wants to go somewhere to grab lunch and drinks. We've done Senior Frogs... Hated it! We're looking for a place that won't hound us every two minutes to buy crappy shots! Any ideas ???

Which pier are you at? Are you willing to taxi or does it need to be within walking distance?

16 people is a lot of people to just drop in at many Cozumel restaurants, so wil restrict your choices.

Not sure about the pier... were cruising on Royal Caribbean Liberty.

We prefer walking distance,  but we can grab several cans if needed. We just dont want to get to far off from the port.

Royal Caribbean ports at the International Pier,

Even when we sail in on Royal Caribbean, we, along with many of our friends, like to go next door to Carnival's pier and eat at Sancho's Back Porch.  Food is good and it is much quieter than the ubiquitous Senor Frogs.  It's a bit of a walk but too short for a cab ride.

I think gadaboutgal means Pancho's Back Yard.  The main on is downtown.  But it's not a long walk.  You can see it from the International pier.

If you decide to head downtown, La Mission at the corner of  Rosado Sala and Avenida 5, just before the plaza can accommodate your group.

You can make reservations on line at both for large parties.

As others have said most places in Coz aren't set up for larger parties.

International Pier is a long walk to town where the best eateries are.  There is some good info on www.cozumelmycozumel.com and www.cozumelinsider.com.  The best meal that we have had on Coz was at Casa Denis.  There are directions to several restaurants on these websites as well as recommendations.  One of our favorite things to do is find the out-of-the-way places where the locals eat.  Usually good food and cheap prices.

I have stayed in Cozumel for weeks at a time, the absolutely best restaurant is Guido’s.

Italian cuisine, best lasagna ever, along with fantastic gourmet pizzas. Reasonably priced with indoor dining or a beautiful backyard patio.

8 blocks from downtown cruise ship pier. Open 11am-11pm

I will be dining there soon on my Symphony cruise.

Pancho’s Backyard is just 2 blocks further, good food also on a beautiful courtyard outdoor patio.

Cheers!

Not sure if Casa Denis can hold 16 people total:classic_laugh: much less all as 1 party.  Agree that local loncherias are best but again, not room for 16 people.

Google Guido’s Cozumel for photos and menu.

Menu prices can be converted to US $ on currency converter site.

As good as Guido's is,  the OP and party may not be wanting Italian in Mexico.  The cuisine generally appeals to locals and longer staying vacationers like yourself.  A bit more upper end than  typical spaghetti and pizza.  Also, don't think they take reservations except for dinner one day in advance.   But they may have room for a couple of 8 tops if not busy that day.
