Island Princess - Medallion Net in Alaska

I understand Island Princess has recently been outfitted with Medallion Net. How is the service on the Alaskan Cruisrs?

I’m on the Coral which is also equipped with MedallionNet. This morning we’re arriving in Skagway.

 

So far internet connection has been pretty decent. But I’m getting strangely large variations  in download speed. Here are some sample data. 

 

Locations:

6/13 - cruising from Vancouver to Ketchikan

6/14 - docked in Ketchikan

6/16 - docked in Skagway

Mostly fine, some intermittent connections last two days as we got more Northerly on Northbound vancouver to Whittier.

I would expect it to be worse the farther north you go.

I was on the Island in May when they initiated Medallion net on the second half of my b2b. It was not a smooth rollout and the speed was half as fast as it was before roll out. I posted about it on my lazy live I did. It may be better now but boy was it crazy at the IT desk that week!
