Celebrity Solstice Casino

I just returned from the Celebrity Equinox.  I am a casino gambler and was very disappointed in this casino.  Overall it was a great ship but the problems with the casino included very limited and very old slots, almost impossible to get a drink at certain times, slow bar service the rest of the time, no interaction with slot personnel.

With that in the past, I am on the Celebrity Solstice in August.  Can anyone with firsthand experience tell me about the Solstice casino.  Are there fun, new games?  How large is the casino?  Does it have a lively atmosphere?

Yes, I know I should not gamble.  Not going to change though so thanks.

Pretty much the same as Equinox.  Slots were okay, but not great.  Virtually no bar service unless you went to the bar yourself.  Payouts were the usual cruiseship winnings.......meager to say the least.  We were sailing Alaska on Solstice, so not as lively as it is in the Caribbean.  We just got off Infinity last month and stopped going to the casino by the middle of our 11 day Med cruise.  Even the tables seemed very quiet on this cruise.

I believe the casinos are the same size. Looked like the same games and atmosphere.  The casino on Solstice never seemed to be bustling.  I tried getting a drink at the bar and the service was r-e-a-l    slow.

My husband and I are heading to the Equinox next month. I am a slot player as well. Do you remember who the casino host was? Were there any good old slot machines? We went on the solstice last summer in Alaska and the casino was quiet most of the time and there were limited new machines on that ship as well. In fact many of the machines were the same ones from several years earlier when I sailed on that ship.

We are just off the Summit and there seemed to be a lot of up to date games.  The casino was "updated" as part of the revolution so maybe old games were replaced with new ones then.  We play mostly video poker but I really liked Alex the casino manager.  I felt like he went out of his way to make the daily "events" at 10:00 fun.  He dealt the free black jack tournament with officers and made an effort  to make sure that everyone involved was comfortable and enjoyed themselves.

We felt this casino had a lot more going on and was more fun than our most recent RCCL cruise.  Of course we love

that Celebrity is non smoking in the casino.

Also interested as we just booked our first Celebrity Cruise. Blackjack and video poker are my interests. Always prepared to play but recently, on Cunard, pretty much stopped playing as there was generally just one BJ table with some very intense and not-fun players. And the prevalence of 6-5 blackjack payouts on most Princess and Carnival ships aren’t games I will play either. Still get a lot of discounts on Princess and Carnival based on play. . So, decent video poker on Celebrity?  And good blackjack rules?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Casinos on Celebrity are quiet as compared to on-land casinos.  There were dealers waiting for customers at several Blackjack tables.  One big advantage is the nonsmoking rule in the casino.  Many of the machines appear to have been on the ship for several of our cruises.  I noted that many people went into the casino to watch sporting events and have a drink.

Casino host was Silvia. No good old slots that I could see. Were 3 buffalo etc 4 game machines but no tower. Some old quick hits. I ended up playing video poker all week with limited success.
